The No. 3 Yellow Jackets dominated their in-state rival No. 5 Georgia in the Spring Baseball Classic at Truist Park, run ruling the Bulldogs, 14-4.
The Jackets were on fire at the plate, scoring in all but one inning, including a five-run fifth inning. Georgia Tech scored its 14 runs on 14 hits with three doubles and two homers on the evening.
Ryan Zuckerman and Will Baker each left the yard, with Zuckerman's team-leading 15th homer kicking off the big fifth inning for the Jackets.

Following Ryan Black's lead off single to right field, Tre Phelps and Daniel Jackson struck out, and Rylan Lujo flew out to left. Here are the trio's numbers so far:

After Hernandez and Zuckerman started it off, Will Baker singled and Carson Kerce and Drew Burress, setting the table for Jarren Advincula's hot bat to do damage. He ripped a two-RBI single through the right side to score Baker and Kerce.

Vahn Lackey hit a sacrifice fly to right field on the next at-bat to score Burress, while Kent Schmidt hit a single up the middle right after.

Well, that didn't last long. Georgia Tech has pushed its lead back up to five through the bats of Alex Hernandez and Ryan Zuckerman.
Hernandez notched his second double to right of the game to start the frame. Zuckerman wasted no time after that, crushing a home run to deep center field on the first pitch of the at-bat.
The blast was Zuckerman's 15th of the season.

The Bulldogs' bats have come back alive, mashing back-to-back home runs to cut Georgia Tech's lead down to three.
Michael O'Shaughnessy went deep again, this time to center field. Henry Allen followed it up with a blast to right center.

The Yellow Jackets have extended its lead to five, putting together its highest scoring inning yet with three runs.
After Hernandez's double, Ryan Zuckerman struck out, but Schmidt was able to score on Caleb Daniel at-bat by wild pitch. A pitch later, he hit a deep fly ball to left field to score Hernandez.
Georgia Tech has now scored two runs in each of the first two innings, and now three in third.

Georgia Tech starter Carson Ballard found himself in another jam, this time in third inning, with runners on second and third and two outs after first baseman Brennan Hudson's double down the left field line.
