Chris Gayle struggled in the middle failing to come to terms with the slowness off the track. At one stage he had scored just 29 off 40 balls. He perished in the 14th over to Suresh Raina for 41.

Yuzvendra Chahal brought RCB back in the game claiming du Plessis and Suresh Raina in the 10th over.

Faf Du Plessis and Michael Hussey laid a good platform for CSK by combining for a 40-run stand for the second wicket.

Dinesh Karthik combined with Gayle for a 44-run stand but got out for 28.

Sarfaraz Khan's timely cameo of 31 off 21 balls helped RCB post 139 for 8.

In defence of the total, RCB's Sreenath Arvind claimed an early wicket when he removed Dwayne Smith for 17.

Michael Hussey dropped anchor and scored 56 off 46 balls to help CSK beat RCB by three wickets.
