On a pitch that remained slow and assisted the spinners, Rilee Rossouw constructed a fine half-century

AB de Villiers, who came into the match at the back of a 44-ball 149 and a 66-ball 162 not out in two of his last three ODI innings against West Indies scored a boundary-less 31 off 49 balls. However, he put on a crucial third wicket stand with Rilee Rossouw to stabilise South Africa's innings.

West Indies struck back by dismissing the openers in quick succession after they put on a half century stand for the first wicket.

However, South Afriica's innings crumbled soon after. Sunil Narine proved to be the wrecker-in-chief, finishing with 6 for 27 off 9.5 overs. The visitors were bowled out for 188, with none of the last six batsmen in the line-up recording a two-digit score.

On a pitch in which no other batsman slammed a six, Kieron Pollard hit six sixes, including three of his first five deliveries.
