Jayden Seales to Hazlewood, out Caught by Shai Hope!! Jayden Seales finishes with a 5-fer! It has been an outstanding display of bowling from him. A sharp bouncer angling in and cramping Hazlewood for room. He tries to sway away from the line but is too late to do so. A deflection of the gloves and Shai Hope takes it safely. The umpire was late to raise his finger but the right decision has been made. Hazlewood c Shai Hope b Jayden Seales 4(7)

Jayden Seales to Cummins, out Caught by Brathwaite!! Jayden Seales gets his fourth wicket! End of a breezy cameo from Cummins! A good length ball outside off, Cummins stays leg-side of it and the idea is to launch it over the infield. But, he doesn't quite get underneath it and doesn't get the elevation. He gets it off the bottom half of the bat in fact. An easy catch for Brathwaite at mid-on. Jayden Seales points to Cummins towards the dressing room. Cummins c Brathwaite b Jayden Seales 28(18) [4s-3 6s-1]

Jayden Seales to Mitchell Starc, out Caught by Justin Greaves!! Jayden Seales gets a 3-fer! He has bowled his heart out! Bowling in good channels always trouble batters and he has bowled with pinpoint accuracy today. A back of a length ball shaping in from around off, Mitchell Starc is drawn into pushing at it with hard hands and an outside edge is induced. It flies low to the left of Greaves at second slip and he crouches to take a sharp catch. Jayden Seales is pumped up. quite an animated grunt and fist pump from him. Mitchell Starc c Justin Greaves b Jayden Seales 0(5)

W
Justin Greaves to Head, out Caught by Shai Hope!! Justin Greaves gets the big fish and he is elated! A back of a length ball angling in from outside off, Head tries to cut it hard behind square on the off-side against the angle but only manages to get an outside edge. Shai Hope behind the stumps does the rest. An entertaining knock from Head comes to an end. Australia would have wanted him to stay out there for longer though. Head c Shai Hope b Justin Greaves 59(78) [4s-9]

Jayden Seales to Cummins, FOUR, back of a length on off, Cummins stays leg-side of it and opens his bat-face to guide it wide of gully

W
Jayden Seales to Carey, out Caught by Roston Chase!! Edged and caught! Chase put down a sitter in the first session, but he's held onto a screamer now. On a good length and well wide of off, Carey's eyes lit up as he saw the width, went with hard hands on the back-foot drive, gets a thick edge and the ball was flying to the right of first slip. He hardly had any reaction time, but Chase threw himself with both hands and clings onto a beauty. That's tea on Day 1 with the hosts pushing themselves ahead of the contest. Carey c Roston Chase b Jayden Seales 8(15) [4s-1]

W
Shamar Joseph to Webster, out Bowled!! That's an absolute cracker and Joseph is off in delirious joy. An absolute peach, nothing much that Webster could've possibly done, angled into him from wide of the crease, draws him across and then wickedly straightens like a fast leg-break. Webster is completely opened up like a can of beans, gets beaten on the outside edge and the ball clips the top of off-stump. Another magical moment from Joseph and Australia have lost half their side now. They check for a possible front-foot no-ball, but Joseph did have something behind the popping crease. Webster b Shamar Joseph 11(24) [4s-1]

4
Shamar Joseph to Webster, FOUR, creamed, overpitched and wide of off, Webster gets a good stride forward and then drills the drive square past point, beat the fielder in the circle and raced away

W
Shamar Joseph to Khawaja, out Caught by Shai Hope!! There's an edge and West Indies have finally got rid of Khawaja - it's that man again - Shamar Joseph - not the greatest delivery but he'll not care one bit. Was a short delivery that held its line outside off, Khawaja was shaping for the pull and there's an audible under-edge through to the keeper. Everyone heard the noise and the left-hander walks away as soon as umpire Nitin Menon raised the dreaded finger, ends a superb 4th wicket partnership as well. Khawaja c Shai Hope b Shamar Joseph 47(128) [4s-4 6s-1]

Shamar Joseph to Head, 1 run, and Head gets to his fifty first. The man for the crisis has stood up in his own unique way. That was angled in and Head nudged the ball down with soft hands to steal a single. Just a raise of the bat. The crowd applauded as well
36.1

Jayden Seales to Josh Inglis, out Caught by Shai Hope!! A top-edge, Shai Hope calls for the catch, moves across to his left, waits under the skier and holds onto an easy catch. Another batter trying to break free and Inglis falls in his comeback innings - wasn't short enough for the pull and he's undone by Seales's extra bounce. Australia in some trouble after opting to bat first. Josh Inglis c Shai Hope b Jayden Seales 5(15)

Shamar Joseph to Green, out Caught by Justin Greaves!! Shamar Joseph has been rewarded for his consistency! He roars in delight! Was in the corridor of uncertainty, angled in initially and then straightened a bit. Green pushed at it with minimal foot movement and an outside edge was induced. Greaves at second slip got low and took it inches above the ground. Seemed like a clean catch. The third umpire has a look and rules that Greaves' fingers are underneath the ball. Green was dismissed the same way in both innings in the WTC final against South Africa. Looks like a definite chink in his armour. Credit to Shamar Joseph for setting Green up with back of a length deliveries and then pushing it up to make him fall in the trap. Green c Justin Greaves b Shamar Joseph 3(21)
7.3
Shamar Joseph to Khawaja, 1 run, dropped! A cry of anguish from Shamar Joseph! In the corridor of uncertainty, angled in initially and then straightened to square Khawaja up. He poked at it and got a thick outside edge. Chase at first slip gets low to his right but goes at it with hard hands. The ball pops out. That was an easy chance. The Windies skipper would be kicking himself
4
Shamar Joseph to Green, no run, dropped! A back of a length ball outside off, seaming away with a bit of extra bounce, Green pushes at it with hard hands and gets a thick outside edge. Brandon King gets low and it comes at a good height to him as well. He gets his hands to it but it pops out. He misjudged it and crouched with his knees on the ground. Could have stayed at a still position, would have been better balanced
3.4
W
Shamar Joseph to Sam Konstas, out Lbw!! A chirpy appeal for lbw turned down! Roston Chase has a chat with Shamar Joseph and Shai Hope and sends it upstairs. Height might be a factor. Was a good length ball that seamed in sharply from around off, Sam Konstas was caught in the crease as he tried to keep it out but missed to get struck on the pads. Time for the replays. UltraEdge shows a gap between bat and ball. Over to ball-tracking and it reveals three reds - hitting the top of leg-stump. That's a good review by Chase & Co. and they have reaped the reward for it. Shamar Joseph is pumped up and why not! A bright start for the Windies. Sam Konstas lbw b Shamar Joseph 3(14)
