Nathan Ellis to Chahar, FOUR, Chahar finishes with a boundary. Short of length delivery, Chahar gets inside the line and pulls it behind square on the leg-side. Not quite off the middle but he got it wide of the short fine fielder
19.5
Nathan Ellis to Chahar, no run, full and outside off, Chahar walks around before backing away and letting it pass. He thought it was a wide but the onfield umpire and technology proved he was wrong
19.3
Nathan Ellis to Chahar, 1 run, on a length and around off, Chahar drives towards extra cover and the pair take the single
19.2
6
Nathan Ellis to Chahar, SIX, these are handy runs for Mumbai Indians. Ellis goes short and into the wicket but Chahar was waiting for that, he hangs back and nails the pull into the deep mid-wicket stand

Khaleel Ahmed to Boult, out Caught by Gaikwad!! Third wicket for Khaleel. He didn't start the over well but he finishes well. 3 singles and a wicket off the last 4 balls. He goes short and into the pitch, Boult makes room and tries to flat-bat it down the ground, gets it off the toe-end and the ball goes straight up, Gaikwad gets around from extra cover and takes it near mid-off. Mumbai Indians in danger of being bowled out inside 20 overs. Boult c Gaikwad b Khaleel Ahmed 1(2)

Khaleel Ahmed to Chahar, SIX, this is even better. Khaleel goes pace off but it is once again right in the arc, Chahar does not need to make room this time, he maintains a good base and pumps it down the ground, clearing long-off with ease

Khaleel Ahmed to Chahar, FOUR, fabulous shot! Chahar makes room and swings through the line. This good length ball was right in the slot, angled across Chahar and he had the room to free his arms, struck it cleanly over extra cover and almost sent it the distance

Nathan Ellis to Santner, out Lbw!! Ellis goes straight to Dhoni and hugs him. But Ellis also should get credit because he was confident that the ball was at least hitting the stumps. This is another big blow for Mumbai Indians with two overs to go. Short of length delivery and it skids across, Santner is rooted to the crease and is beaten for pace, the ball strikes him on the back pad and he was right in front of the stumps. Ball-tracking shows it to be hitting the top of middle-stump. Santner lbw b Nathan Ellis 11(13) [4s-1]

Nathan Ellis to Santner, FOUR, shot! Just a chip and the ball almost travels the distance. Full pitcher, right in the slot and Santner lofts it over mid-off. Not much followthrough as the bottom hand did all the work of clearing the infield

Noor Ahmad to Naman Dhir, out Bowled!! Cleaned up! Noor has a 4-fer. He's knocked over Dhir behind his legs. That's a dream dismissal for any wrist spinner. This is the wrong 'un which is floated up around leg, not sure Dhir picked it as he sat down to play the sweep, the ball dips under his bat and goes onto hit leg-stump. Not the start to the final 4 overs MI wanted. In fact, Noor is on a hat-trick.. Naman Dhir b Noor Ahmad 17(12) [4s-1]
14.5
4
Ashwin to Naman Dhir, FOUR, much needed boundary. Carrom ball from Ashwin and Dhir picked it early, he makes room and lofts it with the turn over extra cover. The timing was good enough to beat the long-off fielder..
14
Jadeja to Santner, 1 run, flatter delivery at the stumps, Santner nudges it into the empty mid-wicket pocket and settles with a single

W
Noor Ahmad to Tilak Varma, out Lbw!! That is a body blow from Noor Ahmad. This is why having left-arm wristies with a googly is such a lethal weapon against a team with LHBs. Tilak didn't read this googly. Only wanted to nudge to get though and keep strike but he missed the ball completely and impact was right in front of off stump. Ball tracking says hitting nothing but middle of middle stump. Tilak Varma lbw b Noor Ahmad 31(25) [4s-2 6s-2]

W
Noor Ahmad to Robin Minz, out Caught by Jadeja!! And when he does connect he's picked out long-off to perfection. Flighted googly outside off stump, Robin wanted to break-free but it's next to impossible if you don't pick up variations from the hand. All he did was pick up long-off. MI in trouble now. Robin Minz c Jadeja b Noor Ahmad 3(9)

Noor Ahmad to Suryakumar Yadav, out Stumped!! He is the next thing to the speed of light is MS Dhoni. SKY didn't even complete the bat swing when Dhoni ignited the stumps. Those firm hands that don't go back on the gather and that aggressive forward push towards the stumps always and SKY is stumped. Noor gets his first CSK wicket and it's a big one. Was always a risk trying to take on Noor because it's difficult to read him from the hand. SKY went for a big booming inside-out drive. Probably played for leg spin but it spun away and Dhoni was alert as always. Suryakumar Yadav st Dhoni b Noor Ahmad 29(26) [4s-2 6s-1]

Noor Ahmad to Tilak Varma, byes, FOUR, that's foxed the batter and the keeper. Tilak thought it was the googly and played a mighty slog, but it spun away to miss the bat and even Dhoni didn't pick that one
9.5
Ashwin to Suryakumar Yadav, 1 run, full delivery. Oh Ashwin doesn't collect this chance from SKY! Carrom ball from Ashwin, SKY looks to flick and gets a leading edge, Ashwin couldn't close his hands in time moving to the right and it escapes to long-on
8.1
6
Jadeja to Tilak Varma, SIX, slammed! Flighted delivery on the stumps, Tilak kneels down and nails the slog-sweep handsomely over mid-wicket
6.4
6
Jadeja to Tilak Varma, SIX, in the airrrr and Sam Curran makes a mess of it! He ran in for the catch, then realised his mistake, lost his footing and the ball just clears the rope. That would have been straight down the throat had he stayed put. Jadeja tries to hide the ball full and wide of off, Tilak lofted the drive and escaped with the poor placement

6
Khaleel Ahmed to Suryakumar Yadav, SIX, on the pads and SKY whips it over square leg and clears the rope too! Full and down leg, he was looking for some swing but ended up offering a freebie. There was deep backward square leg but SKY backed himself with the timing and got it right

4
Ashwin to Tilak Varma, FOUR, he brings out the reverse sweep too. Fullish and outside off stump, LHB picks it up over short third man and counterattacks in style. If there is one batter that can bail Tilak out of this in these conditions, it's Tilak!

4
Ashwin to Tilak Varma, FOUR, and look at his intent straightaway! Backs away to unsettle Ashwin, reaches out and slaps the short ball over cover-point. Great beginning

Ashwin to Will Jacks, out Caught by Shivam Dube!! And he strikes in his very first over on return to his own den! Anbuden ungalai Anbudan varaverkiradhu (Chepauk gives you a warm welcome). He doesn't want to hide his big smile. The carrom ball from Ash, Jacks tried to play the aggressive card with a lofted inside out drive, complete mishit. MId-off runs back for a simple catch. MI three down now. Will Jacks c Shivam Dube b Ashwin 11(7) [4s-2]

4
Ashwin to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR, lovely shot from SKY! Full and in the slot, easy ball to punish and SKY nonchalantly lofts it over wide mid-off for a boundary

4
Nathan Ellis to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR, pulls this between mid-on and mid-wicket. Short of a length, sat up nicely, almost pulled that with a straight bat and timed it sweetly to clear the infield as well. Much needed hit from SKY
2.3
Khaleel Ahmed to Suryakumar Yadav, no run, oh almost carried to the man at mid-wicket. SKY straightaway trying to whip it out of sight, goes for it and gets it on the bottom of the bat. Luckily landed in front of the diving Shivam Dube

W
Khaleel Ahmed to Rickelton, out Bowled!! Chopped on! Chepauk is not a place for cross-bat shots that you can play elsewhere. It's got to be really there for the taking. Rickelton has tried to manufacture one here and played on! Looked so good with all those straight bat hit fours, but the first time he played a cross-bat shot he's gone. This was a length delivery just outside off stump, wasn't all that short and definitely wide enough to try that cut shot. In the end he had to make extra room while also bend the knees to get into a position to meet the ball properly, but he got a massive inside edge. Dhoni has an arm around Khaleel for some wisdom of how to operate at Chepauk. Rickelton b Khaleel Ahmed 13(7) [4s-3]

4
Khaleel Ahmed to Rickelton, FOUR, not a big gap at cover but he finds it! Another of his back foot shots that's sweetly timed. Short of a length just outside off stump, Rickelton nicely drives and splits the diving fielders to perfection
2
4
Sam Curran to Will Jacks, FOUR, full and in the slot, Jacks lofts and hits it nice and sweet over wide mid-on for a few bounces and into the fence

4
Sam Curran to Rickelton, FOUR, another back foot push! And the ball is racing off the bat. Short of a length on the stumps, Rickelton punches it nicely down the ground and no stopping that either

4
Sam Curran to Rickelton, FOUR, oh it's Super Sam at the other end and Rickelton knows him really well from his MICT times. Plays a lovely back foot flick, didn't look a boundary hit but such was the timing and once it beat mid-on it escaped all the way

4
Khaleel Ahmed to Will Jacks, FOUR, and he's spoils a maiden over for himself with a full ball on the pads, Jacks flicks easily to the right of mid-wicket. Played late than Rohit so he was able to place it squarer and wide of the fielder to open the account

Khaleel Ahmed to Rohit, out Caught by Shivam Dube!! In the airrrr and gone! Khaleel gets Rohit for the third time in IPL. Simple inswinger on the stumps, Rohit thought he could have the flick for four but he's picked out the man at mid-wicket to perfection. Soft dismissal that and CSK are off to a great start. Rohit had no intentions of keeping it down because he was so sure of finding the gap. Rohit c Shivam Dube b Khaleel Ahmed 0(4)
