ALL OVER - Australia achieve series parity

Glenn Maxwell was tasked with defending 20 runs off six balls and he did well after conceded a four off the first ball. There was only so much Imran Tahir and Lungi Ngidi could do as South Africa fell seven runs short. This series now goes all the way to Hobart for the finale! Until then, caio!

Starc ripper and nine down! - SA 202/9

Kagiso Rabada has been served an unplayable peach - an inswinging yorker that was only destined to smash the base of the stumps. Australia are getting closer and closer to ending their worst losing streak in ODIs.

AUS 2 wickets away from series parity - SA 187/8

What a review! What a wicket! Marcus Stoinis has three, and the third is pretty much the game-ender! David Miller has been trapped leg before. A massive shout was turned down, probably because Miller was on the move, and out of his crease when the ball struck his back pad. Aaron Finch backed his pacer's loud cries for approval and reviewed it. And as it turned out, the ball pitched in line, missed the ball and stuck him in line to crash onto the stumps. Miller walked off for a 71-ball 51. Rabada and Ngidi now need to score 45 off 39 balls!

Bowled 'em - SA 184/7

A cross-seamer from Stoinis sneaks under the bat of Dale Steyn and hits the stumps, prompting the Aussie all-rounder to display an emotional celebration. South Africa have Miller at one end, but are already eight down.

Miller fights on - SA 181/6 in 41 overs

David Miller has scored his third ODI fifty against Australia, and 12th overall to keep South Africa alive here. SA still need 51 from the last 54 deliveries.

SA continue to slip - SA 174/6

Dwaine Pretorius goes! Lot's of pressure was put on him with tight fields not allowing for easy strike rotation. Hazlewood dug one short and got Pretorius to attempt a pull, but that only went as far as the mid-wicket fielder.

In walks, Dale Steyn.

Faf du Plessis is gone - SA 143/5 in 29.2 overs

Pat Cummins knows the value of that wicket. His celebration says it all. This is a big breakthrough for Australia, one that might be the catalyst. They will have their tails up from now on. Faf du Plessis tried to cut a short of length ball, but ended up chopping it onto his stumps.

Over to David Miller.

Thriller in the works? - SA 95/4 in 20 overs

There's nothing like a low-scoring thriller in cricket! Even if there is, for now let's believe otherwise and look ahead to Australia pulling off series parity. Their bowlers are doing a fine job even with a small total like 232, but there's more to do to truly put themselves in contention for a win. South Africa still have Faf du Plessis in th middle, who is already in his 30s. Big test

Stoinis strikes - South Africa 68/4

It's raining innocuous deliveries, and batsmen continue to fall for them. Heinrich Klaassen was offered a short ball which he tried to pull away, but ended up hitting to short mid-wicket. Australia are on track to level the series.

South Africa three down!

A double strike of sorts for Australia and South Africa are throwing in hurdles for themselves in what should be a simple chase. But you can't blame Reeza Hendricks too much for nicked to the keeper, for Hazlewood bowled an absolute peach in the channel outside the off-stump.

Aussie comeback on the cards? - South Africa 46/2

Aiden Markram is gone! Reeza Hendricks called for a third run and Markram - though in doubt - obliged and made a dash. He even put in a dive, but when the bails were whipped off, his bat was in the air.

Throwback to a time when Kohli appreciated a non-Indian cricketer...
