Bangladesh win

With 13 needed off 2 balls, New Zealand got a second shot at the target courtesy a no-ball from Mustafizur Rahman which went away for a boundary. But it wasn't an opportunity converted as Tom Latham, the well-set batsman batting past his maiden T20I fifty, only managed three runs for his team off the next two balls. Bangladesh win by 4 runs and go up 2-0 in this five match series!

Fifty for Latham

His maiden T20I half-century! Gets there in style with a shuffling heave-ho over midwicket. He remains key in this chase.

Two wickets in quick succession

Nicholls and de Grandhomme gone as Mahedi Hasan finishes with excellent figures of 4-0-12-2.

Openers fall

... in a space of 5 balls. Rachin Ravindra chops Shakib on after hitting him for a six while Tom Blundell is stumped off Mahedi Hasan's bowling as he tries to shimmy out and is undone on the outside edge.

Mahmudullah takes Bangladesh to good total

A 32-ball 37 not out from the captain takes Bangladesh to 141 in their 20 overs. It all looked good for the visitors in the middle overs when a flurry of wickets brought them back after a 59-run stand. Mahmudullah then took over in the final few overs, hitting five boundaries en route to a good total but will that be enough? It's a much better pitch than the last one...

Shakib falls...

McConchie strikes with a loopy delivery that gets the better of Shakib's big heave-ho. Debutant Ben Sears takes a stuttering catch in the deep but the umps reckon it's a clean one.

Rachin Ravindra strikes twice in one over

End of a 59-run opening stand with the wicket of Liton Das who chops on on 33 off 29 balls. Rahim is then stumped off his first delivery by a ball that turned, quick hands from Latham on that occasion.

Steady opening stand

The last thing Bangladesh needed was a flurry of wickets after opting to bat. Mohammad Naim and Liton Das, the quicker of the two who's also hit a beautiful inside-out drive, have ensured that New Zealand don't get off to a cracker. The hosts started with two spinners but both couldn't buy a wicket.

Build up

Bangladesh's dream run on turning tracks at home continues. After 4-1 series win over Australia, they spun out New Zealand for only 60 in the first T20 but took more than 15 overs to overhaul the total, a sign of how tough the track in fact was. It's a new day but the pitch might not be too different. New Zealand could be bolstered by the arrival of Fin Allen who has recovered from covid-19 and is
