The Pakistan Cricket Board today issued a show cause notice to Fakhar Zaman on his remarks about the selection committee's decision to drop Babar Azam for the second and third Tests against England.

The left-handed top-order batter said on X that the reports of dropping "our premier batsman" were "concerning" and such a move "could send a deeply negative message across the team". He called the board to reverse their decision.
Zaman posted his message five minutes before Pakistan announced their 16-member squad for the remaining two Tests of the England series.
