The 25th match of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025, played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was abandoned with only 26 balls of play possible due to rain, and with it, the Colombo leg of the competition has come to an end - where 7 out of 11 games were affected by rain, with five getting abandoned.

Sri Lanka, who had made one change to their side, opted to field after a rain-delayed toss. There was limited action in the 4.2 overs of play with Omaima Sohail and Muneeba Ali adding 18 runs

It was the third abandoned game of the competition for both Pakistan and Sri Lanka. As a result of the points splitting yet again, Pakistan find themselves in a bizarre situation of being able to avoid the wooden spoon despite being the only team in the competition to have not won a game (provided India beats Bangladesh in their final league game).

Sri Lanka jumped past New Zealand on the points table, and are currently placed fifth. They will hold on to that position if New Zealand loses their last league game, set to be played against England in Visakhapatnam.

Brief Scores: Pakistan 18 for no loss in 4.2 overs (Omaima Sohail 9*, Muneeba Ali 7*) vs Sri Lanka - match abandoned
