The Sunrisers Eastern Cape continued their brilliant start to the season with another thumping win, beating the Pretoria Capitals by 48 runs in Gqeberha. They achieved their second bonus point of the season in as many games as well. Quinton de Kock (77) and Matthew Breetzke (52) took SEC to 188 for 6 before Adam Milne's 4 for 25 bowled out the Capitals for 140 in 18 overs.

SEC opted to bat and de Kock scored a streaky six and a four off leading edges in the first over as the home side were off the blocks quickly. Lungi Ngidi castled Jonny Bairstow in the second over but from there it was the de Kock and Breetzke show. They smashed 17 runs off Codi Yusuf while Wihan Lubbe went for 13 runs as they raced to 64 for 1 at the end of the PowerPlay.

De Kock smashed Lubbe onto the roof of the stadium before bringing up his fifty off 29 balls. In the 11th and 12th overs, the two batters hit five fours between them as they raced past the 100-run mark in quick time. Breetzke then brought up his 50 off Ngidi before de Kock powered a half-volley over the ropes. The 116-run stand came to an end when De Kock was stumped and Lubbe picked up Breetzke in the next over to have two new batters at the crease.

Jordan Hermann came out of the blocks quickly. He hit two boundaries off his first three balls and then smashed Lubbe for 17 runs in the 17th over. Tymal Mills ended the innings well for the Capitals picking up the wickets of the struggling Tristan Stubbs (9) and Hermann (37) to restrict SEC below 200.

In response, the Capitals lost Bryce Parsons in the first over to Marco Jansen as he nicked behind. Shai Hope and Will Smeed took the left-armer for 13 runs in his next over before the former hit three boundaries off Anrich Nortje in his first over. The West Indian's innings came to an end when he was bowled by Milne for 36.

Smeed continued to threaten with boundaries while Dewald Brevis looked to have gotten a hold off Lewis Gregory with a four and a six off successive deliveries. But, the bowler had the last laugh as Brevis mistimed a pull straight to deep mid-wicket. Muthusamy picked up Smeed for 35 as two new batters were at the crease. Lubbe was run-out before Milne picked up two in an over to send the Capitals to 138 for 8. Tharindu Rathnayake cleaned up Yusuf and Ngidi as the SEC sealed a comfortable win.

Brief Scores: Sunrisers Eastern Cape 188/6 in 20 overs (Quinton de Kock 77, Matthew Breetzke 52; Tymal Mills 2-31) beat Pretoria Capitals 140 in 18 overs (Shai Hope 36, Will Smeed 35; Adam Milne 4-25) by 48 runs.
