Live Cricket Score - Ranji Trophy 2017-18, Quarterfinals, Day 1
On a day when inclement weather led to the first two session being called off, Kerala made regular incisions to gain the upper hand against Vidarbha. Faiz Fazal, the bedrock of the batting line-up, Sanjay Ramaswamy, who has also been in good nick, and the experienced Jaffer were the ones dismissed. Vidarbha were 45 for 3 at close of play.
KC Akshay took two scalps while Nidheesh bagged one for Kerala. With the mainstays of Vidarbha's line-up back in the pavilion, Kerala would look to pick up the key scalp of Ganesh Satish early on Day 2 to solidify their good position.
Delhi vs MP - close of play
Vikas Mehra bagged a three-wicket haul while Tokas, Navdeep Saini and Manan Sharma took one scalp each to reduce Madhya Pradesh to 233 for 6 at close of play on Day 1.
Ankit Dane (59), Naman Ojha (49) and Harpreet Singh (47 not out) made handy contributions. On Day 2, the MP camp would hope for Harpreet to convert his start into a big one and propel the Central Zone side to a score of over 300.
Gujarat vs Bengal - stumps
Abhimanyu Easwaran (129) and Anustup Majumdar (94) shared a partnership of 175 for the fifth wicket to lift Bengal from a precarious 59 for 4 to 234 for 5 against Gujarat. Siddharth Desai, known for his discipline, broke the dangerous stand by prising out Majumdar.
At the fag end of the day, Chintan Gaja sent Easwaran back to the pavilion to give Gujarat the slight edge. Bengal were 261 at close of play.
Karnataka vs Mumbai - stumps
Karnataka would be thrilled with their position at stumps on Day 1. Mayank Agarwal, the man in form, remained unbeaten on 62. He displayed a fair amount of flair and flourish. Samarth was the only one to be dismissed as they ended the day at 115 for 1, behind by just 58 runs.
Earlier, Vinay Kumar bowled with zest and vigour to rip through the cream of Mumbai's line-up. Only Dhawal Kulkarni down the order offered resistance by tonking a few sixes to compile a useful 75 and propel the 41-time champions to a score of some respectability - 173.
It turned out to be Vinay's day as he didn't just finish with a six-wicket haul but also picked up a hat-trick - Prithvi Shaw, Parkar and Bista were his victims.
Dehli vs MP, Kerala vs Vidarbha

Meanwhile, Kerala have again started impressively, with Nidheesh dislodging the fulcrum of Vidarbha - Faiz Fazal, in the eighth over of the game.
Agarwal continues golden run
Shivam Dubey castled Samarth for 40 but Mayank Agarwal crunched another fifty. He is on a roll and at present can't do anything wrong. Mumbai need to make a few more incisions as this game is getting away from them.

Injury scare
Anustup Majumdar of Bengal cracked a powerful pull which hit the fielder positioned at FSL. After a bit of treatment from the physio, the FSL fielders seems to be fine now. Thankfully...
Splendid century
Eswaran has played a superb hand (100) to chart a very good recovery for Bengal versus Gujarat. He and Majumdar have strung together an undefeated stand of 129 to power them to 188 for 4. Maybe Ganguly's presence at the stadium helped the East Zone side?
MP lose their way
After a steady recovery, MP have lost the wickets of Bundela and more importantly, Naman Ojha (49). Manan Sharma and Tokas took a wicket each for Delhi. The North Zone side back in the ascendancy with MP at 159 for 5.
