That's it from this game. DSG trying to stake a claim, a little late, but as they say better late than never. SEC are still on top though. Every game will be a massive event and will have a massive impact on the points table. We had a massive weekend. We will come back tomorrow with more cricketing action. Bye bye for now.
Tristan Stubbs, Player of the Match: More bitter. One of those days when unfortunately things didn't go our way. I think if you break it down, the things we always speak about we haven't done them well. We lost two games, both went into the final over. When you are not playing well, we still aren't getting blown away. That's the positive we can take. We just couldn't get over the line.
Aiden Markram: Fortunately, beggars can't be choosers at this stage. Yeah, fortunately it’s a big one for us to take at this stage. Nice to get some points. We’re in a position now where it almost feels like must-win territory. It got tight, it got a bit niggly towards the end, but we’ll take the points and definitely take a couple of lessons from it as well. Yeah, the wickets here can be challenging. They do slow up as the innings goes on. We’re lucky to have two really good spinners, and they gave us great control. The boys bowled well overall. Those last three overs hurt us a bit, a couple of bad balls, but also a couple of really good shots. Credit to Stubbs, he played superbly. Walking off, we probably felt they got 10–15 more than we would’ve liked. But the good thing was the boys got us off to a decent start in the chase and stitched together some small partnerships. On a wicket like this, those little partnerships go a long way. Yeah, no preset plan, really. They’ve got a very good bowling attack, and at some point you have to take a risk, otherwise they just keep hitting their areas and pile pressure on you. It was more about backing the options that made sense in these conditions. Would’ve loved to kick on. When you get a start like that, adding another 20–30 runs can make a big difference. But it was nice to contribute and get the innings moving. The way things have gone for us, the lack of rhythm, some tough conditions, the rain interruptions, normally you’d think experience counts, but it hasn’t always felt that straightforward. We’ve been in similar situations recently and expected it to be a grind. And I was glad that we got over the line, but we know there were better ways to close that game. We’ll chat about those tomorrow.
Tristan Stubbs: The whole second innings ebbed and flowed. Credit to them, they got away from us at the start and we couldn't reign them back. The cricket here, the powerplay is crazy, then it slows down and then you get going at the end. One of those St. George's days. In hindsight it is always great. We gave a good fight. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the job done. They needed 6 and a half at one point. We were always one wicket away. We couldn't get over the line. The way the weekend has gone, the organizers would be pretty happy. We have two more home games. We haven't done well at home. And we owe this crowd a good performance. Unfortunately, we couldn't get over the line.
19:05 Local Time, 17:05 GMT, 22:35 IST: DSG are through! They win by 2 wickets and keep their play-offs hopes alive. They were off to a flier. But then wickets fell in the middle phase and that really created panic. The chaos meant it went down to the final over but Evan Jones and Kwena Maphaka kept their nerves to get over the line. Milne had an off day and went for 51 in his 3 overs. That I feel was the difference between both the sides as run scoring wasn't easy on this deck. Credit to Ackerman and Markram who provided the flourish at the top and made sure the run rate was never a factor. Narine was promoted as well to number 4 in search of quick runs but fell for a duck.

Nortje to Evan Jones, FOUR, DSG are home! They left it too late but are home. Was a length delivery, outside off, Evan Jones backed away and slapped it wide of cover for a four. DSG win this by 2 wickets
Nortje to Evan Jones, leg byes, 2 runs, a late call to review it as the bat was late to come down. The batter walked across, looked to nudge it and got the ball off the inside edge. The ball did thud the pad first but the impact was outside off and that saved the batter. They get a brace as Evan Jones was quick to call for the second. He dived in to make it

Nortje to Kwena Maphaka, leg byes, 1 run, angled in, on a length, Kwena Maphaka looks to tuck it and misses. They steal a leg bye. The throw to the bowler's end was a careful one

Milne to Gerald Coetzee, out Bowled!! On the sticks, on a length, angled in, Gerald Coetzee looked to slog and missed the ball to be clean bowled. 8th one down. Still 5 needed. Was that needed? He wanted to finish it off I guess. But the glory shot doesn't come off. Milne has a little chance at redemption. He still has a ball left. Gerald Coetzee b Milne 13(6) [4s-1 6s-1]
Milne to Gerald Coetzee, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!

Milne to Gerald Coetzee, wide, has been a poor day for Milne. Spills it down leg and has been wided. The keeper did well to stop that

Milne to Gerald Coetzee, SIX, and over Jansen. The lanky one leapt up but the ball went over him. Much needed blow as it tilts the pressure back on SEC
