India Women vs Sri Lanka Women, 4th T20I

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Harmanpreet Kaur: We were getting short on time and I wanted everyone to be on time, I didn't want the last over with three fielders outside. I have been playing for ages, so I try to improve after each game. We should give credit to Smriti and Shafali for the start they gave, also Richa and myself for finishing the innings. We thought we will give chance for Harleen but how the game went, we thought Richa will finish the game and didn't give her a chance to bat.
Chamari Athapaththu: At least we improved in our batting areas. We still need to improve our power-hitting. They (India) batted really good. Our bowlers didn't bowl well, but it is a young bowling attack and lot of inexperience. They are learning against the best team in the world at the moment. She (Vaishanvi) has been bowling really good, she's young but has played U-19 level, even though she hasn't played WPL.. The way Harmanpreet handled her was very good.

22:12 Local Time, 16:42 GMT: That was an excellent response from Sri Lanka. Yes, they’ve fallen short by 30 runs, but they’ve also produced their highest-ever T20I total, and that in itself is a big statement. Hasini Perera gave them a flying start and skipper Chamari Athapaththu joined the charge as they raced to 50 in just 3.3 overs, adding 59 for the opening wicket. Chamari carried on after Hasini’s dismissal, bringing up her first fifty of the series and keeping Sri Lanka ahead of India’s score at the halfway stage. Every batter who came in showed intent, kept finding boundaries and ensured the chase stayed alive for a long time. But they couldn’t quite match India’s explosive second half and eventually finished on 191. For India, this was the first real challenge of the series. The bowlers had to operate with a wet ball, the fielders weren’t at their sharpest and they did struggle at times. Only Vaishnavi Sharma truly stood out, finishing with impressive figures of 2 for 24 in her 4 overs. Thankfully, India’s batters had put up a massive total and that cushion allowed them to extend their winning run. Presentations coming up..

Arundhati Reddy to Kavisha Dilhari, out Caught by (sub)G Kamalini!! Taken on the fourth attempt. Kamalini almost makes a mess. But recovers to hang on. Fullish delivery angled in, Dilhari clears her front leg and heaves it towards long-on. She seemed to have middled it but didn't get the distance.
