PLAYER OF THE MATCH
That's it from this one. We will have more PSL action soon. Do join us then. For now it's bye bye from all of us here.
Ashton Turner | Multan captain: "Yeah we are having fun, there's a lot of smiles around the changeroom as you can see, more importantly we are playing good cricket. Whilst we strive for perfect games, we know that there's a little bit that we can improve on, particularly with our bowling again, albeit really tough bowling conditions. Our batting is going beautifully but we will take some time now. We have got a bit of a break and we will reflect on what has been a great first half of the campaign. Take the learnings from it and be prepared for what Karachi is going to offer. (on Faisal) Yeah, that's the nature of wristspinners, isn't it? We have had the luxury of a couple of bowling options in our top seven batters. So that gives us some flexibility. You know, as best we can, we want to have a wristspinner in our ranks, the conditions will dictate that at times. They might now bowl there a lot like before, but we know that they can be match-winners. We have played five games. Momin was man of the match in the first game. Now Faisal's been man of the match today. So we know they are match-winners and they are going to be a really important part of our bowling attack going forward. (on Farhan) He's a beautiful player, isn't he? But he's been well-supported. We have got a lot of quality individual batters in their own right as well. There's some world-class players at the top of the order but what's really exciting is particularly some of our local domestic players, albeit we didn't see them tonight so much. But in that middle order offering us one great intent, but two, also a lot of runs, so they're getting results for us. You know, that the superstars more often than not, they're going to be successful but we are seeing contributions throughtout at least."
Mohammad Rizwan | Rawalpindiz captain (translated from Urdu): Hopefully the luck changes in Karachi and the conditions will change, also our planning will change. It happens in franchise cricket - if you make a change, you need to make 2-3 changes. Have to look at the foreigners as well and also you have to play the Emerging players. We try and go with a balanced side. The toss has not gone in favor in the last 3-4 matches, early on the ball is gripping. That's why there's a margin of 10-20 runs and the results have not gone our way.
Faisal Akram | Player of the Match (translated from Urdu): I'm thankful to the management for believing and trusting in me. I feel great. I was concentrating on my basic plans, bowl according to the pitch and the conditions. That's why I was successful. I was trying both - to stop the runs and also to look for wickets. Thanks to god, it came off well.
22:18 Local Time, 17:18 GMT, 22:48 IST: Such an easy win for Multan. They stay top of the table while it's four losses in a row for Rawalpindiz to start their season. Steve Smith failed today but Farhan and Philippe's stand of 110 for the 2nd wicket set things up. A couple of wickets fell after that but the result was never in doubt. Still 22 balls left when Turner hit the winning blow. Farhan again showing his power and muscle as he slammed sixes, while Philippe too joined in the act. Rishad was very expensive while Amir Khan showed glimpses of his potential - the yorker to get Farhan was a fine delivery. The wicket was superb for batting and Multan have such depth in their lineup. Once they didn't lose wickets early, the target was never going to test them. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff...
