SUMMARY

One of the rare power-hitters in the Bangladesh setup, Jaker Ali has quickly established himself as a regular in all three formats after making his international debut in 2023. He was 25 when he broke onto the big stage, unlike some of his teammates who made the cut much earlier. But the wicketkeeper-batter saw a sudden rise in fortunes as he developed his six-hitting ability and showcased it in the BPL.

Jaker made his T20I debut in the 2023 Asian Games, and was included in the other two formats a year later. His blistering knock of 68 off just 34 balls against Sri Lanka, early in his career, showed exactly what he brought to the table.

Later in 2024, Jaker was instrumental in helping Bangladesh level the Test series in the West Indies as he made a brilliant 91 in the third innings at Kingston while batting with the tail. His power-hitting came to the fore once again on a difficult pitch as he took his team to a position of strength. He ended up as the highest run-getter, not just in the Tests, but in the following T20I series as well.
