SUMMARY

George O'Brien was one of Bermuda's rising fats bowler who was forced to quit cricket after a terrible assault attack. O'Brien was always at the centre of controversies right from a young age. He made his ODI debut in 2006 against Canada, in Bermuda's first ever one day international game. Prior to that, in 2005 he was handed a two-year suspended ban after reportedly punching an opponent during Bermuda's Cup Match.

After his debut in 2006, he was dropped from the national side after missing a lot of training sessions and showing indiscipline. He was subsequently omitted from the 2007 World Cup squad too. A few days later, he broke his leg while playing football and missed a few matches after that.

His antic on and off the field brought him under negative limelight repeatedly. In 2010, he was involved in a serious altercation with a man who assaulted him with a machete. He hasn't played since.
