SUMMARY

Faoud Bacchus had an interesting little career for the West Indies in the late 1970s. He had a notable little feat of playing all his Test matches in different grounds - 19 matches, all at various venues. He loved batting in India the most, conjuring three of his four fifty-plus scores there, including a magnificent 250 at Kanpur against a quality Indian spin attack. The only other time he got close to a century was in Bangalore during the same series when he departed on 96. Bacchus' playing style involved high-risk batting with a lot of aggression and not surprisingly, consistency eluded him. He also registered 7 ducks in the 30 innings that he batted in. He had better returns in First-class cricket where was more consistent and notched up more tons. Bacchus' style suited the shorter format and he was quite good at it, often playing impact knocks. A rebel tour to South Africa brought his international career to a halt and he shifted base to USA, for whom he even played an international game in his 40s.
