Hailing from Silver city - Cuttack, Niranjan Behera honed his skills at a local club, Union Sporting. Dedicated and disciplined, Niranjan Behera graduated through age level cricket and broke into the first-class side in the 2002-03.

However, despite showcasing nerves of steel and water-tight technique, Niranjan could never scale the heights he was destined to at the domestic level. Already more than 70 matches old, a bickering average of about 31 shouts out his modest record.

His last first-class game was in 2014 and chances of coming back into the state side are good as gone but if you go by Niranjan's track record, he has always seen hurdles as newer opportunities.
