Pakistan VS South Africa - 1st Test
PAK Inngs
Subrayen to Salman Agha, out Caught by Muthusamy!! In the airrr and he's picked out the man at deep mid-wicket. Throws his bat in disappointment and catches it back. Salman Agha is out in the 90s for the first time in Test cricket. He was getting impatient to get his fourth hundred as he lost partners at the other end. Tried to get a boundary and get closer, instead holes out and has to do it all over again next time. Salman Agha c Muthusamy b Subrayen 93(145) [4s-5 6s-3]
Muthusamy to Shaheen Afridi, out Bowled!! There is the tailender's urge of slogging to get a boundary getting into Shaheen just as he was defending quite well. Just stepped out without even seeing the where the pitched. Left nothing in the tank as he tried to smash this out of city, ball sneaked under the bat to hit the off stump. Shaheen Afridi b Muthusamy 7(23) [4s-1]
Muthusamy to Sajid Khan, out Caught by Markram!! First five-wicket haul for Muthusamy in Test cricket! Beautiful bowling from Muthusamy and he is turning it on! Three wickets in the over! He has stuck to his lines and lengths, has kept it simple and it's working for him to perfection. 86.8kph tossed up delivery on middle, turns away nicely after landing, Sajid Khan comes half-forward to block but gets an outside edge. Markram at slip gets low to his right and takes a good catch. Triple-wicket maiden for Muthusamy. Sajid Khan c Markram b Muthusamy 0(1)
Muthusamy to Noman Ali, out Bowled!! Muthusamy picks two wickets in three balls and he is cock-a-hoop! He once again bowls it slow through the air and lands it on a length outside off this time. Noman Ali comes half-forward and is tentative in his approach. He expects it to turn sharply but it doesn't turn that much. He tried to block but plays down the wrong line. There's enough turn for the ball to crash into the off-stump. Noman Ali b Muthusamy 0(2)
Muthusamy to Rizwan, out Caught by Verreynne!! Good piece of bowling from Muthusamy to get rid of the well-set Rizwan! Muthusamy talked about bowling slow through the air and the ball reacting differently to that on this surface in an interview before the start of day's play and that plan has worked for him on this occasion. 84kph tossed up delivery drifting in on off initially, lands on the seam on a length, Rizwan is drawn forward into a push but the ball turns away venomously with extra bounce and an outside edge is induced. Verreynne shows sharp reflexes and takes a sharp catch to his right. A brilliant knock from Rizwan nonetheless. He bailed his side out of a tricky situation and has put them in a strong position with some proactive batting. Rizwan c Verreynne b Muthusamy 75(140) [4s-2 6s-2]
Harmer to Babar Azam, out Lbw!! South Africa review for a lbw! Markram has a chat with Harmer and takes the review just before the timer runs out. Floated full delivery outside off, turned in sharply, Babar Azam played down the wrong line and got beaten on the inside edge to get struck on the front pad. Time for the replays. UltraEdge shows a flat line which means no bat involved. The bat was close to the ball but it hit his front pad and not the ball. Over to ball-tracking and it shows three reds. It is crashing into the leg-stump. Terrific review from the visitors and they have got the key wicket of Babar Azam. The game has turned on its head. Babar Azam lbw b Harmer 23(48) [4s-4]
Muthusamy to Saud Shakeel, out Caught&Bowled!! And all of a sudden Pakistan are four down. That was a tossed up delivery, Saud Shakeel looked to work the ball down on to the on-side to get a leading edge. Easy catch for the bowler. Simple return catch. Fourth one down. Muthusamy is on a hat-trick. That was a nothing shot and pure laziness that has cost Shakeel his wicket. SA back in this. Saud Shakeel c and b Muthusamy 0(1)
Muthusamy to Imam, out Caught by de Zorzi!! Taken by the man at FSL. The batter danced down, looked to defend and the ball went off the inside edge and it lobbed to the man at FSL. The batter was stunned but has to walk off. That was a lovely delivery, turned in, Imam just could not manage the bounce on the delivery. The ball lobbed off the inside edge. Was a good low catch at FSL. Imam c de Zorzi b Muthusamy 93(153) [4s-7 6s-1]
Subrayen to Masood, out Lbw!! Masood has been trapped in front but he takes the review! That looked adjacent to the naked eye. Was on a length around off and it came in with the arm, Masood lunged to keep it out but got beaten on the inside edge to get struck in front. Time for the replays. UltraEdge shows a gap between bat and ball. The ball is close to the bat and pad but it missed the inside edge and struck him on the pads first. Over to ball-tracking and it reveals three reds. It would have gone on to crash into the leg-stump. A good knock from Masood nonetheless. Is this the opening South Africa needed? Masood lbw b Subrayen 76(147) [4s-9 6s-1]
Rabada to Shafique, out Lbw!! Excellent review. The batter missed the line of the delivery. And was hit on the back pad. The appeal was made but the finger had stayed down. But SA decided to review and they have got the rewards. Excellent start for the visitors. The big inswinger has again plotted the downfall for Shafique. Shafique lbw b Rabada 2(3)

Sajid Khan to Rabada, out Bowled!! South Africa have been bowled out for 269! The slider on a back of a length on off, goes straight on, Rabada looks to keep it out but gets beaten on the outside edge and the ball hits the top of off-stump. Rabada b Sajid Khan 0(9)
Noman Ali to Subrayen, out Caught by Salman Agha!! 6-fer for Noman Ali! Floated delivery drifting in nicely on middle and off, turning away slightly, Subrayen leans ahead to block but only manages to get an outside edge towards slip. Agha stationed there gets low to pouch it safely. Subrayen c Salman Agha b Noman Ali 4(11)
Noman Ali to de Zorzi, out Caught by Shaheen Afridi!! 9th five-wicket haul for Noman Ali in Test cricket! de Zorzi has holed out! Brilliant catch from Afridi. de Zorzi uses his feet to the tossed up delivery around off but gets too close to the pitch of it. He hits it hard but doesn't get the necessary elevation on it. It's flying towards long-on. Afridi moves to his right and dives to take a really smart catch inches above the ground. That was traveling but he made it look simple. de Zorzi was trying to put the foot on the accelerator but it has worked against him. A fantastic knock from de Zorzi nonetheless. de Zorzi c Shaheen Afridi b Noman Ali 104(171) [4s-10 6s-2]
Sajid Khan to Muthusamy, out Caught by Salman Agha!! Sajid Khan picks up his second wicket! This one drifts in from a fuller length around off, Muthusamy comes half-forward and plays for the turn but it comes in with the angle. He gets an outside edge and Agha at slip gets low and takes a good catch in front of him. Muthusamy c Salman Agha b Sajid Khan 11(34) [4s-1]
Noman Ali to Verreynne, out Lbw!! Verreynne has been given out lbw but he challenges the decision straightaway! Looks adjacent to the naked eye. It was the arm delivery that landed on a fuller length on middle and leg and straightened just a bit. Verreynne went for the big sweep but got beaten on the under-edge to get struck on the front pad. The replays roll in. UltraEdge comes into play and there's a clear gap between bat and ball. Over to ball-tracking and it returns three reds. It would have crashed into the middle of middle. South Africa are in a spot of bother. Verreynne lbw b Noman Ali 2(13)
Sajid Khan to Brevis, out Caught by Masood!! That's a soft dismissal! Brevis departs for a golden duck! You can't afford to play with hard hands on a surface like this and Brevis has paid the price for doing so. On a length around off, turning in, Brevis hangs back and tucks it uppishly towards short mid-wicket where Masood takes a straightforward catch. Sajid Khan lets out a roar in delight! Pakistan have their tails up now. Brevis c Masood b Sajid Khan 0(1)
Noman Ali to Stubbs, out Caught by Rizwan!! Stubbs has been given out caught behind but he takes the review straightaway! That was beautifully bowled! This one drifted in on middle on a fuller length and drew Stubbs forward on the push. It landed and turned away viciously and seemed to take a feather on the outside edge. Time for the replays. UltraEdge detects a spike when the ball is next to the bat. The Pakistani players let out a big roar when they see the replay on the big screen. Stubbs departs and he takes a review with him as well. Stubbs c Rizwan b Noman Ali 8(17)
Salman Agha to Rickelton, out Caught by Babar Azam!! Agha with the bat, Agha with the ball now. But what a stunner from Babar at slip. Third wants to be sure about the catch being clean. Fingers under the ball is the verdict. Sharp reaction from Babar and he grabbed it one-handed to the right inches from the ground. Full and turning away, Rickelton was looking to flick, got a thick leading edge that was dying on the fielder. Babar managed to get his fingers under the ball diving to the right and grabbed it clean. Had to be something special to end this special innings from Rickelton. This is the first time he's not converted a fifty into a hundred in his career. Rickelton c Babar Azam b Salman Agha 71(137) [4s-9 6s-2]
Noman Ali to Mulder, out Caught by Rizwan!! Noman Ali once again picks up a wicket! He reaps the reward for sticking to a consistent line and length. The change of ends has worked for him. A tossed up delivery on off, luring Mulder to go for an expansive stroke and he obliges. He tries to drive with hard hands through covers but ends up getting a faint nick behind. Rizwan makes no mistake. The replay reveals that Mulder perhaps was shaping to slog it leg-side but made a late decision to go for the drive. That split second delay in decision-making was enough to cause the false stroke. Mulder c Rizwan b Noman Ali 17(41) [4s-3]
Noman Ali to Markram, out Caught by Rizwan!! This is definitely edged and a very good take by Rizwan. Ball was turning with bounce, so the edge was flying high to the right. Rizwan managed to collect it around the shoulder. Flighted delivery pitching around middle and turning big, Markram played the line but he couldn't handle the extra turn. Ball almost went off the shoulder of the bat - hit him so high. That edge was going straight to first slip but Rizwan did brilliantly well to get his hands quickly to the right to catch that ball. Markram knew he hit it so didn't review. Markram c Rizwan b Noman Ali 20(37) [4s-1]
