IND Inngs
Kuldeep Yadav to Warrican, out Caught by Dhruv Jurel!! Kuldeep comes back and wraps it up. Siraj's wait for a home 5-fer continues.. Poor shot from Warrican. First ball against Kuldeep and he decides to play the reverse sweep, even keeps the bat reverse and tries to hit it off the back, but the ball misses the bat and brushes the glove. Jurel stays low and takes a sharp catch. Warrican c Dhruv Jurel b Kuldeep Yadav 8(16) [4s-1]
Bumrah to Johann Layne, out Bowled!! Knocked 'im! If a recognised batter like Greaves couldn't keep it out then you can expect a debutant and youngster like Layne to do so. Another yorker aimed for the stumps, Layne is beaten for pace and the ball sneaks through his defence, crashes into off and middle-stump. One more wicket to wrap up the innings.. Johann Layne b Bumrah 1(4)
Bumrah to Justin Greaves, out Bowled!! Cleaned up! That's classic Bumrah. Warrican managed to keep the yorker out but not Greaves. Mind you, it has gone gloomy in the last few minutes and the floodlights are on. But that's no excuse for Greaves. This is a pinpoint yorker, aimed for the base of off-stump and Greaves is beaten for pace, the ball sneaks under the bat and flattens the off-pole. Greaves' resistance comes to an end. West Indies 8 down and just 150 on the board. Justin Greaves b Bumrah 32(48) [4s-4]
Washington Sundar to K Pierre, out Lbw!! This is a typical Washington wicket. He has got left-handers out this way on a few occasions now. Most recently had Stokes right in front. The ball drifts in sharply, Pierre is pressing forward to defend but is beaten for pace and the ball strikes the pad first before deflecting onto the bat. The impact was right in front of the stumps and ball-tracking showed it to be smashing into leg-stump. He was denied a wicket in his previous over but not this time. K Pierre lbw b Washington Sundar 11(34) [4s-2]
Siraj to Roston Chase, out Caught by Dhruv Jurel!! That's a corker and Siraj has his 4th wicket. Beautiful length and the line opened up Chase completely - shaped to come back with the angle and Chase was looking to work it onto the on-side, but the ball then wickedly straightened onto the West Indian captain, he was completely squared up by the angle, closed the face of the bat and the edge flew to the keeper. A slight wobble, but Dhruv Jurel manages to hold onto it and India have their 6th wicket. Roston Chase c Dhruv Jurel b Siraj 24(43) [4s-4]
Kuldeep Yadav to Shai Hope, out Bowled!! Cleaned up! Hope is left bemused. He cannot believe what's happened. Stands there and keeps looking at the stumps and the celebrating India players. What a ball! Kuldeep at his best. Flighted delivery, drifts across and draws Hope into the drive, the ball turns back in to beat the inside edge and hit the top of off-stump. Superbly set-up and West Indies are five down. Shai Hope b Kuldeep Yadav 26(36) [4s-3]
Siraj to Athanaze, out Caught by Rahul!! The change of angle reaps rewards immediately and West Indies find themselves in a big hole now. A nothing shot frrom Athanaze, this was full and this was wide of off - too tempting for the left-hander and he couldn't resist the big drive, went so with hard hands and the edge was gobbled up by KL, moving to his left at second slip. Looking all too easy for India at the moment, first morning of a home Test, asked to bowl and they've grabbed four wickets with the spinners haven't still bowled a ball. The players will take drinks at the fall of Athanaze. Athanaze c Rahul b Siraj 12(24) [4s-2]
Siraj to Brandon King, out Bowled!! Siraj gets rid of King and celebrates in his normal Ronaldo style - it's the big nip-backer, but that's a shocking leave from King. You can't be letting a ball go alone and then watch your middle-stump sent cart-wheeling, it's another big inswinger from Siraj, jags back in sharply and you'd be surprised that a batter let it go by without offering a shot. He'd definitely saw it coming, two big inswinging deliveries and yet he shoulders arms to another one. West Indies in a spot of bother on the first morning. Brandon King b Siraj 13(15) [4s-3]
Bumrah to John Campbell, out Caught by Dhruv Jurel!! A big shout for caught behind, India were very much interested, but umpire Richard Illingworth shakes his head. India have reviewed though, John Campbell didn't look worried as well - he might've flicked the pad with his bat as he drove, but did it find the outside edge at the same time? The first replay looks inconclusive, umpire Paul Reiffel is taking a few looks - UltraEdge has a spike when the bat hit the pad and the ball is next to the bat at the same time. 'There are two spikes', he says, it could be bat hitting the pad first and then finding the edge as well. But is it conclusive enough to overturn the original call? 'There's a deflection there', a spike when the ball hit the bat and he asks umpire Richard Illingworth to change his call - John Campbell is OUT. That's a great call from the third umpire, there was a definite deflection and replays from the back confirmed the same - on a good length and in that channel just outside off, dragged Campbell into the drive, the bat clipped the front-pad and the ball found the edge at the same time, a successful review from India. John Campbell c Dhruv Jurel b Bumrah 8(19) [4s-2]
Siraj to T Chanderpaul, out Caught by Dhruv Jurel!! A strangle down leg and India have struck early. Unlucky for Chanderpaul, but his tendency to shuffle across has cost him dear, short of a length and angling into the left-hander - Chanderpaul shuffled across on the tuck, he's undone by the extra bounce and the ball catches the glove on its way to the keeper. Jurel dives to his right and completes a neat catch. First wicket of the home season and it goes to Siraj. T Chanderpaul c Dhruv Jurel b Siraj 0(11)
