IPL 2015: SRH vs RR, Match 11
Sunrisers Hyderabad, asked to bat first, began well but were pegged back by three quick wickets including the run out of David Warner by a direct hit from Ajinkya Rahane.
After a strong start by openers Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner, Rajasthan Royals came back into the innings with Dhawal Kulkarni accounting for Dhawan and KL Rahul.
Naman Ojha and Eoin Morgan, playing in his first match for the franchise, revived the Sunrisers innings with a steady partnership of 52, but they failed to build on the platform laid by the two.
Sunrisers Hyderabad were getting set for a competitive total, but that was until Pravin Tambe came into the attack and changed the complexion of the game. Tambe bowled Naman Ojha before trapping Morgan leg-before, and finished with figures of 2 for 21.
Despite being in control of the match for most of the time, Rajasthan Royals left it a little too late for comfort, with James Faulkner dispatching Praveen Kumar's last ball of the 20th over for the winning runs.
Ajinkya Rahane took it upon himself to set up the RR chase, scoring 62 and stayed until the 19th over to see his side through, also becoming the purple cap holder in the process.
Steven Smith experienced a rare failure as Rajasthan Royals lost a few more wickets than they would have liked in a small chase.
It took Sunrisers Hyderabad 10 overs before making the first breakthrough when Ravi Bopara was introduced into the attack, and took the wickets of Sanju Samson and Karun Nair.
