New Zealand vs Bangladesh, 2nd Test - Day 2

After the departure of Taylor and Latham, Henry Nicholls held New Zealand's innings and put on 75 runs for the fifth wicket with Mitchell Santner. Towards the last few overs, he remained a spectator of a procession as wickets kept tumbling from the other end.

Ross Taylor attacked the Bangladeshi bowlers and scored a quickfire half-century. He also added 106 runs with Latham for the second wicket. His innings included a couple of sixes - one each off Rubel Hossain and Shakib Al Hasan.

Shakib Al Hasan struck thrice late in the day to dismiss Mitchell Santner, BJ Watling and Colin de Grandhomme. This not only broke New Zealand's momentum, but also helped Bangladesh claw back in the contest.

Mitchell Santner played a crucial hand, before being trapped legbefore. His dismissal proved to be a trigger for a mini collapse

New Zealand got off to a steady start with Tom Latham and Jeet Raval putting on 45 runs for the opening wicket. However, ISlam Rabbi, who was introduced into the attack in the 15th over, dealt a severe blow to their momentum by taking two wickets in three balls, sending Raval and Kane Williamson back to the pavilion

Tom Latham went on to construct a steady half-century - a knock that included 11 boundaries. His innings laid a good platform for New Zealand's reply.

Tom Latham was hit on his helmet grill by a delivery from Rubel Hossain that rose sharply after hitting the back of length.
