Aaron Finch scored a half-century, after Australia had lost three wickets, to steady the innings.

Finch made 107 before he fell in the 36th over to Moeen Ali.

Mitchell Marsh scored 50 but fell soon after to leave Australia at 205 for 5.

Marcus Stoinis smashed a 40-ball 60 to prop up Australia in the death overs and lift them to 304 for 8.

Australia dismissed Jonny Bairstow early on but not before England got off to a flying start.

Pat Cummins then dismissed Alex Hales to put Australia ahead.

Jason Roy, however, hammered a quick ton to help England surge ahead in the contest.

Joe Root struck a half-century and played second fiddle to Roy to keep the Australian bowlers at bay.

Roy (180) and Root (91*) helped England canter to a five-wicket win.
