Hello and welcome to our LIVE Blog for #MIvDC. As always, tweet in your views, ideas, pleas and frustrations to @PrakashG_CB. We'll feature the best (and quirkiest!) on this live blog!

Delhi Capitals prevail!

Who would've thought after that PowerPlay? Incredible from Delhi Capitals - particularly Shreyas Iyer - who has seen the chase through amidst all the chaos to dent MI's playoffs hopes. DC meanwhile are a win away from a top-two finish. And they have their ex-captain to thank, who finished with an unbeaten 33 off 33 balls.

Shreyas Iyer, you beauty!

He's dragged this chase out till the very end where it is now DC's to lose. He's stopped the rut and shown great maturity in the face of a serious collapse. His run rate is insignificant (30 off 31) as he's brought DC's chase down to 11 off 12.

DC just can't catch a break here!

Shimron Hetmyer is gone now. Bumrah comes back and gets him to hole out. The asking rate was still not past six but the pressure was building anyway.

Five down!

Axar Patel's promotion ends rather quickly. He goes for 9 off 9 after reviewing an LBW call that he probably felt hit him too high on the back leg. But umpire's call prevailed, giving MI their fifth wicket.

Jayant Yadav serves his selection purpose!

He's devoured the biggest left-hander on DC's roster - their captain. Rishabh Pant was doing alright in his bid to plot the team's recovery but he's gone now, trying to take on the offspinner, only to mistime to Hardik at long on.

MI three down inside the PowerPlay

Nathan Coulter-Nile disturbs Steve Smith's leg stump. The DC batter shuffled across and looked to tuck one away on the leg side, but missed it. Exceptional start for MI this.

Two down!

Never write this champion side off. They are right on top here despite their ordinary first-half performance. Krunal Pandya has trapped Prithvi Shaw in front and Rohit took an excellent review as Krunal convinced his skipper. The original call had to be overturned and DC are now two down.

Dhawan-Shaw take on Pollard's arm...

and pay the price! The DC duo tried to steal a quick single but Pollard ran in to pick up and throw the ball in a single motion at mid-on. Dhawan was down the track when he played the drive so saw it fit to take it on. But Pollard proved otherwise with a direct hit.

Mumbai Indians finish with 129/8

And that came because Krunal Pandya and Jayant Yadav could hit a six each off Ravichandran Ashwin in the final over. MI could tell themselves they have the momentum heading into the break but this has been through-and-through DC's half on yet another sticky Sharjah pitch that batter will never want to play again on. No wonder Rohit and Pant had a bit of banter at the toss after the latter won the toss and said we'll bowl even before he was asked. 129 is not a lot, but on this pitch, it could yet be tricky. Remember, MI's fate rests on this game. Expect a tough fight.

Avesh in the double!

He first takes out Hardik Pandya with a perfect yorker, and then shatters Nathan Coulter-Nile stumps with a length ball. What a spell of bowling from the young Indian quick. He finishes with figures of 3 for 15.

Over to the Pandyas...

So MI crawl to 87/5 in 15 overs and it is now over to the Pandya brothers. Even 130 might seem hard to cahse here. Can they get them there somehow though?

Nortje strikes on return...

Forget the Ashwin-v-Pollard duel, Nortje has done the damage. He starts with a cunning leg-cutter that Pollard didn't have his eyes on, and ended up reacting late. It resulted in an inside edge. MI are swiftly capitulating here.

There's a middle-overs contest brewing...

Pollard vs Ashwin in IPL: 34 balls | 51 runs | 4 dismissals

Third for Axar Patel!

He's successsfully dismembered Mumbai Indians' top-order here. It's a pitch that demands patience and Saurabh Tiwary had none of it on this occasion. He went for a blind slog sweep, only to top-edge it high that Rishabh Pant easily pouched. Exceptional from Axar here. He finishes with a spell of 3 for 21 in 4 overs.

Axar halts MI recovery

Suryakumar Yadav was looking good for the first time since resumption of IPL 2021, but he has free-flowing batting has been stopped in its tracks. Suryakumar tried to clear an Axar full delivery on the full toss, but didn't pack enough of a punch behind it. He hits one down the throat of Kagiso Rabada at long on.

Quinton de Kock falls!

MI's shaky start continues. Quinton de Kock was alright against the pace of his compatriots Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje in the PowerPlay, but his dismissal in the seventh off Axar Patel is the result of a lot of dot ball pressure. Incredible how much of a 180 degree turn this Sharjah pitch has been for batsmen. Last year if you told them that they'll hate playing at the venue, they'd laugh. But it's the reality now as MI stutter early. This is the sixth time QdK has fallen to a spinner - joint-most with Moeen Ali.

Have DC missed a trick in the PP?
