Tim David has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing Big Bash League season after scans confirmed a Grade 2 strain in his right hamstring.
According to his BBL franchise Hobart Hurricanes, David is "tracking to be available" for the T20 World Cup, which kicks off on February 7.
The injury occurred while David was running between the wickets during Hurricanes' four-wicket win over Perth Scorchers on Friday (December 26) night. The Hurricanes had confirmed that David would undergo scans on Saturday (December 27) to assess the extent of the injury.
"David's rehabilitation timeline has him tracking to be available for selection for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup," Hurricanes said in a statement on social media.
David also suffered a hamstring injury while playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025 and missed the final few matches, including the title-winning finale against Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad.
