A running log of all Code of Conduct breaches, fines and sanctions through IPL 2026

Match 4: PBKS v GT | 31 March, 2026

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer was fined INR 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during the game against Gujarat Titans at New Chandigarh on Tuesday, March 31.

Iyer was fined under Article 2.22 of the IPL's Code of Conduct for a minimum over-rate offence after the first innings stretched to nearly two hours, well beyond the mandated one hour and 30 minutes within which the 20th over must begin.

The Kings conceded 14 extras, including 11 wides and a no-ball, which further lengthened the innings. Consequently, the Kings had to also contend with having an extra fielder in the inner circle for the final over.
