Twitter reactions: Karun Nair joins Club 300

He had not had an ideal start to Test cricket - two innings into his international career, Karun Nair had a sum total of just 17 runs to his name. But when the opportunity presented itself, on Day 4 in Chennai on Monday (December 18), Nair did not hold back. He notched up his maiden Test hundred, resuming from the overnight score of 71, doubled it up a while later, and when the team needed quick runs to push for a declaration, switched gears to convert into a rare triple.

His 303 not out in the fifth and final Test against England made Nair only the second Indian to breach the 300-mark in Test cricket, alongside Virender Sehwag. No wonder the former opener was amonsgt the quickest to welcome him into 'Club 300'.

Icing on the cake, he had his parents watching from close quarters.
