Australia Women won by 8 wkts
PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Phoebe Litchfield

India will hope this is a one-off and they get these ordinary performances away before the big event later this month. Australia just showed why they're the best in the world. They were put under pressure by the opening partnership but once they broke it, they were in control right through. Can India get back in the series? Join us on Wednesday to find out. Until next time, goodbye and stay safe..

Phoebe Litchfield | Player of the Match: Got a bit of luck early on. Really enjoyable to be out there with the skipper, Pez and Moons. The conditions over here are nice for batting, you get some flat pitches and I like batting. (Playing hockey as a kid) I think so, you have to play hockey right-handed, the wristwork involved.. there has been a lot of practice going into that shot (switch-hit). As a group we came out with a definite plan to hopefully get on top, our bowlers bowled well today on a pretty nice wicket to keep them to 280 and to chase it down with balls to spare is a really cool thing. Great to start the way we did in India.

Alyssa Healy: Very nice way to start. To lose the toss and be told we are bowling first in that heat, the way we hung in there, very proud of the girls. It (taking pace off) was identified it was going to be the case, taking wickets here in the powerplay is important, but if you don't get them then you can still get back in the game by bowling smartly. Having 8 bowling options it is quite a blessing to call on anyone to play a role. We want to push the limits when we are batting first and that's no different when chasing, the girls did that brilliantly. Phoebe was outstanding, but everyone who came in and contributed, kept the score-rate going and we never really took the foot off the throat which was really cool. (On Perry's injury) She's just old, she's fun (*laughs*).

Harmanpreet Kaur: We were 20-30 runs short with the bat, our bowlers tried to create opportunities but unfortunately we could not capitalise on those opportunities. They played really good cricket. But next game is very important and we want to stay positive, looking forward to it. Both innings the pitch played better, but some more positive batting and adding 20-30 more runs, taking our chances might have made a huge difference. We will think and analyse the pitch before the next game. We will try with whatever we have in our side, that was our best combination.

Six individual 50-plus scores in this game, the most in an ODI featuring these two sides.

Annabel Sutherland: It was nice to get the win. We felt it was a pretty good wicket, it was coming on and we tried to squeeze as much as we could, that built the pressure and got us the momentum back. We knew it was going to be heavy spin, but assessing the conditions, the ball was coming on and we didn't feel like we had to overplay it, Phoebs and Moon played really good knocks, everyone looked really settled.

20:41 Local Time, 15:11 GMT: A comprehensive win for Australia. They have chased down 281 with almost 6 overs to spare. India just didn't turn up in the second innings. They were poor in the field - dropping 4 catches (two from Litchfield on 0 and 56) and numerous misfields. The bowlers too offered freebies and didn't keep the pressure on for longer periods. But the main difference was the middle overs (11-40); India - 152/3, Australia - 196/1. The first 10 overs were very similar but Litchfield capitalised on the good start and accelerated while India's top order slowed down. Mooney took over after Litchfield's fine knock and kept the scoreboard moving, even though Perry walked off retired hurt for 30, Sutherland added a 100+ stand with Mooney to close the game out. Hang around for the presentations..
