After the bowlers had a good work out, the Indian batsmen will look to leave their mark on Day 2 of the practice game against Cricket Australia Invitational XI at Adelaide. On Day 1, all the bowlers took wickets. In particular, Varun Aaron and Bhuvneshwar Kumar impressed.

When India came out to bat Shikhar Dawahn got out cheaply and more worryingly he was yet again caught in the crease with his feet moving nowhere. Murali Vijay looked in fine touch. Cheteshwar Pujara too played well.

For Cricket Australia Invitational XI, Carters scored a fine fifty. Kelvin Smith essayed an enterprising innings of 40.

On an overcast morning, both the overnight batsmen, Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara, played some fine drives and looked set to get a big score. It should be a good work out for two batsmen who are key to India's chances of doing well against Australia.

Josh Lalor, the left-arm pacer, has been in fine form in this tour match. Just before the first session ended, he got Rohit Sharma's wicket as he was adjudged lbw. At Lunch, Indians were 178 for 5.

Raina and Kohli played with steadfastness to take India past the 200-run mark. Raina made his intentions clear while playing the off-spinner, Grimwade, by thwacking him for two boundaries and a six in a single over.

Kohli and Raina played enterprising knocks before getting out. The Indian think-tank would be happy with the fact that most of the batsmen have got some runs under the belt in the tour game. India were 329 for 8 at the end of second session with Saha scoring a fifty.

The match finally ended in a draw with both Saha and Karn Sharma notching up fifties. They were 363 for 8 and led by 144 runs when the match was declared as a draw. The visitors got much-needed practice before they take on Australia in the 1st Test.
