An easy win for India in the end to level the three-match series 1-1. Win by seven wickets. There was a very minute glitch in between when they lost three quick wickets, but thereafter has been pretty comfortable for the visitors. Rohit Sharma led with a half-century at the top to get the chase going, and Rishabh Pant polished it off in quicktime, unbeaten on a 28-ball 40.

The DRS howler earlier in the day will certainly be talked about, but onto Hamilton now when the two sides will lock horns one last time on India's tour of New Zealand. Thank you for your company today. Do just us then. Goodbye

Build Up:

In the recently-concluded five-match ODI series against India, New Zealand smelled defeat time and again. During the rubber, New Zealand's cricketers were seen standing with their hands on hips, looking quite vanquished. It felt as if they were looking at nothingness.

But athletes take pain and swallow it, with winning and losing being part and parcel of sport. New Zealand's cricketers, too, showed the required self belief and fighting spirit to pick themselves up and win the first T20I by a comfortable margin.

Tim Seifert (84), known for his hitting prowess in domestic cricket, put up a brilliant exhibition of power-hitting. Tim Southee, who usually generates swing at Westpac, took three scalps. In the end, it was a clinical show from the hosts.

Meanwhile, the formidable Indian side will aim to bounce back. The likes of Khaleel, Bhuvneshwar and Hardik were expensive with the ball, while the top order couldn't fire at Westpac. For the second game, Shubman, Kaul or Kuldeep could come into the equation.
