New Zealand sign off on a good note before Christmas and New Year. Still early days in the WTC cycle but they are shaping up nicely. West Indies, on the other hand, showed great resolve and perseverance with the bat in the fourth innings in the first Test to salvage a draw but couldn't back it up post that. There have been shades of brilliance but they need to keep the tempo up for longer periods. That's it from our side. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. On that note, we bid you goodbye.
Here's the glory moment! Latham has been presented the trophy and he is all smiles! He joins his teammates to pose for photographs.
Tom Latham | New Zealand captain: (On his thoughts on where the game was heading with the ball in the first innings) With the ball in that first innings, I thought throughout the rest of the game we were exactly where we wanted to be, and obviously being on the right side is really pleasing. (On the discussions they had around the first drinks break this morning) For us it was about trying to stay in there for long periods of time. On a surface like that, if we get one, then we can create a few opportunities. It’s a wicket that’s hard to start on. We saw a lot more variable bounce today and some movement off the cracks. It was about trying to hang in there and not really doing anything different. If we stayed there long enough, we’d get the rewards, and we got rewards in clumps. We saw that later on today as well. (On having had to deal with a number of injuries in the team) I think any time you face adversity through injuries, you look at the personnel we have got and guys making debuts, guys playing their first games at home and different guys, you see it's a collective effort. It’s really pleasing. The more experience we can build into different guys it's good news for us. It's a good marker for how we want to operate. This pitch was different from what we usually play on so to be able to adapt was good.
Roston Chase | West Indies captain: It has been a tough series. We played good in patches but not through long phases and it showed in the results. Two of the first pitches were similar but I thought this one was drastically different from the last two. Having to adapt swiftly is something we can take away from this tour. Having Kemar Roach back in the side, all the guys were very happy. Lots of experience and lots of wickets. Having him was a big plus and he led from the front on and off the pitch so that was great. I think we need to know when moments are up for grabs and then nail those moments. That's one area we can improve upon and we could have had different results in all three matches.
Jacob Duffy | Player of the Series: ( On taking most wickets in a calendar year for any New Zealand bowler in all formats) Yeah, hard to know. That’s a weird one. I saw that list at lunchtime in the lunchroom and there are some cool names on there. To be up there on any kind of list with those sorts of names is pretty special. It’s been a cool year. It’s been good fun and I’m just bloody enjoying it. (On having had to remodel his action after being taken out of domestic cricket for a year) There’s the big man, Rob Alter, and his mate Anton Rue. Coming from that, that first year with him, I always appreciate that. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for my career. It was good quality time and good time off, and I’m bloody looking forward to it. Not vulnerable for a while.
Devon Conway | Player of the Match: (His feelings on the Test match) It was great. I don’t think it’s set in yet. It’ll take time for me to get my head around what happened in this Test match, but I’m really glad we got the win. (On the surface being variable) Thankfully we got the best of the conditions. Batting on day one, it went around a little bit, but it certainly didn’t do what it did on day five. I’m pretty grateful that I managed to get the best part of the conditions. (On has he done anything particular in the last 18 months or so?) No, nothing in particular. For me, I always talk about my mindset — keeping a positive approach and just trying to do a job for the team day in and day out. (On playing franchise cricket and also playing for Black Caps) I try to keep it as simple as that. I think it’s pretty straightforward really. If I get some time to go out and do those other leagues, it’s great for me.
Earlier, a mammoth 575 from NZ set them up strongly - Conway stole the limelight with a double century while Latham also hit a ton. In response, WI responded well courtesy a terrific century from Hodge but they still conceded a sizeable 155-run lead. The Kiwis capitalised on that and batted with flair and freedom in their second essay. Latham and Conway raised brisk centuries to take the game away from the visitors. WI were set a steep target of 462. The surface on the fifth day offered a lot of variable bounce and they couldn't handle it. The Kiwis declared twice in this match - that shows how dominant they were with the bat. Stick around for the presentations...
16:21 Local Time, 03:21 GMT, 08:51 IST: It has been a clinical all-round performance from the Kiwis. The Windies started off nicely today in a fight for survival but the fall of King resulted in a collapse as WI went from 87/0 to 98/5. That collapse pegged them back completely. Soon after, Roston Chase was nipped out by Duffy. The visitors showed some resistance in the post-lunch session. Shai Hope was on a bloackathon but his decision to pad one away from Ajaz Patel resulted in him getting trapped in front. Imlach dug in from one end but the Kiwis ran through the tailenders. Duffy knocked Seales over to take a 5-fer and finished the game off.

Jacob Duffy to Jayden Seales, out Bowled!! That's the final nail in the coffin! Jacob Duffy picks up a fifer and fittingly finishes it off! A booming inswinger on a fuller length that shapes in sharply from outside off from round the wicket, Jayden Seales leans ahead to block but leaves a bat-pad gap. The ball goes right through that and crashes into the stumps. New Zealand win the 3-match series 2-0 and gain some important WTC points. Jayden Seales b Jacob Duffy 0(5)
