PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Villani receives the trophy and her teammates join her on the podium to celebrate. The Hurricanes were thoroughly dominant, not just tonight but in the league stages as well where they finished on top of the table. So that's all from this tournament. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Until next time, it's goodbye!
Villani | Hurricanes captain: Before I sound like a flog, I actually have two versions of this speech, but I was hoping that I'd only have to read this one out, and I just thought it was best to be prepared as it's our first final and it's a huge occasion for our organisation no matter what happens tonight. So I'm glad I'm reading this one, but please don't think ill of me. We've watched you fight all season long (addressing the Scorchers). You've played some incredible cricket, and congratulations on making it to the final. I know that there's great things to come for you because there's amazing people in your organisation and you should all be really extremely proud of yourselves. Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the Big Bash League, Cricket Australia and Weber, and Al Dobson on all the work that's been put into making this competition what it is. You've created a product that inspires the next generation to pick up a bat and a ball and one day dream of representing their favourite Big Bash club, whether that be in the WBBL or the BBL, and that's something I could have only dreamed of as a kid. So thank you very much for having this product out there and thank you to all the role models throughout the clubs as well. Thank you. The Cane Train, as we're affectionately known, it has many carriages and it's a pretty long train when you think about it. We have a wonderful organisation and the staff who make up that organisation. We've got our sponsors, we've got the board, our families, supporters, our fans and our high performance staff and players bringing up the rear. The final carriages aren't possible without all the carriages that come before. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you everyone for your support. I hope you know how much we appreciate you, how much we enjoy representing the Hurricanes and most of all, how much we love representing the people of Tasmania. To our entire group, all 16 players and support staff who have been a part of this journey, I'm so incredibly proud of this group and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your work and sacrifice, buying into what it means to be a Hurricane. A great culture is created by everyone involved, not just a small few and that's what I'm most proud of when it comes to this team. The genuine love and care that everyone has and has shown one another has helped us get to where we are and I can't bloody wait to celebrate tonight. Choo-choo, baby!
Devine | Scorchers captain: Just want to say a huge congratulations. Knew we were going to be up against it. Jeez, the crowd certainly gave us a load of sh**. It's great, they get in behind you guys. Full congratulations to you guys today, absolutely outplayed us. To my crew, today wasn't our day. Unfortunately there has to be a loser. But what we've been able to achieve this season is something we should be really proud of. To all the fans, I know you hate our guts, but thank you for turning up.
Lizelle Lee | Player of the Match: The bowling has been incredible this whole season. Glad the batters backed it up. I try to have fun when I'm batting, was just amazing.
21:59 Local Time, 10:59 GMT, 16:29 IST: What a year for the Hurricanes. Started with the men winning the BBL for the first time and the women have ended it with their maiden WBBL triumph. Their bowlers were on top of their game tonight, restricting Scorchers to just 137 and then Lizelle Lee smashed the opposition to pieces with a blistering 77 off just 44 balls. The Hurricanes have waited so long for this moment, faced so much disappointment over the years, but the only thing they'll carry with them tonight is the tag of champions. Let the celebrations begin...

Lilly Mills to Nat Sciver-Brunt, out Caught by Ruby Strange!! Sciver-Brunt won't be there when they get over the line but it's been a good knock. Flat length ball, she looks to pull but it kicks up on her. Mistimes it in the air to short midwicket. Nat Sciver-Brunt c Ruby Strange b Lilly Mills 35(27) [4s-4 6s-1]
