Abu Dhabi Knight Riders vs Gulf Giants, 19th Match

GG

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
That's it from game 19 of the ILT20. ADKR will be chuffed. They have won two on the bounce and they seem to be peaking at the right time. Giants are on a free fall though and need to get back to winning ways. We will be on our way as well as this game is done and dusted. See ya soon with more cricketing action. Tadaaaa
Piyush Chawla, Player of the Match: I think the love for the game. Because when I started playing cricket as well, I never thought it's going to my profession. I just started playing because I love the game. And that's what keeps me going. The wrong ones come naturally to me. So I don't really have to work on wrong ones. I'm working more on my leggies now. I am just trying to use the different angles and getting my bowling arm a little more sideways to get the leggies done. So that to create that extra bit of doubt in the batter's mind. At the moment, I'm coming back from an injury. So with the bat, I'm not somebody like a Dre Russ that can hit sixes as well. Can't run much also.
Jason Holder: Feels good to just to get over the line. Credit to the boys, I thought we played a really good game. Well, they got off to a pretty good start, you know, but we had our composure. We were able to get some wickets in the middle. Credit to Piyush. Everybody contributed nicely. There are nerves always in a chase.
James Vince: We looked on course, you know for 190-200 at one point. They got off to a great start in the chase. Both teams, I think played some good cricket, some indifferent cricket. Unfortunately, yeah, we weren't quite able to get over the line, as you say. An extra 30 runs and then, you know, the pressure on them up front. But when they get off to that start, the run rates are going to remain high. But, yeah, Shamsi obviously did a fantastic job and pegged them back by taking the wickets he did. But, yeah, solid long batting line-up kept coming and still quality guys coming in at the end. Shamsi came on and got those wickets and then, yeah, I think we started believing and fought really well. The guys at the back end, seamers came on and did a good job. Yeah, a couple of mistakes probably cost us there. The no-ball and then the last ball goes for six. Not ideal, as I say, a couple of mistakes here and there. We could have, felt like we could have won that game, but unfortunately didn't.
22:05 Local Time, 18:05 GMT, 23:35 IST: Salt and Hales had laid the platform. And then Rutherford and Russell did enough to take their team over the line, be it in the final over. ADKR have happy faces again. Second win on the trot for the Knight Riders. Shamsi tried to change the course of the game with his 3 wickets but didn't get much support from the other end. It seemed the Giants were 15 runs light and in the end it has come true. It always seemed the Knight Riders had the chase in control. The Knight Riders have jumped to 4th on the table and would want to carry the momentum forward, The Giants have slipped to their third loss on the bounce. They need to go back to the drawing board as this tourney might see tectonic shifts in the table as we are moving towards the business end.

C Wood to Russell, SIX, that's outta here. Russell hugs McMullen. He is pumped up. Was a length delivery, on the pads, Russell got hold of the delivery and heaved it over deep mid, high and handsome. ADKR win by 4 wickets
A little confab. Vince, Ali and Wood having a chat. They have reviewed the wide as they think there was bat on it. I guess just trying to make Dre Russ wait. No contact with the pads and it will stay as a wide

Klaassen to Holder, out Caught by James Vince!! Taken by the skipper at mid-off. Holder wanted to slog it but ended up playing the shot a little too early. I guess the damage was done already and he could have done it in singles but Holder wanted to finish early and has thrown his wicket away. Was a length delivery and it angled across. Holder just failed to time it well. Holder c James Vince b Klaassen 9(7) [4s-1]
Klaassen to Holder, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
