In response, Pakistan were rocked early courtesy Harmer's double-strike to send back Imam and Masood in quick succession. He set both of them up and then slipped in the slider to trap them in front. Soon after, Shafique was nipped out by Rabada as the hosts were reeling at 16/3 and still 55 runs adrift of the visitors. Babar played proactive cricket from the word go and played some lovely strokes to get things moving. Harmer produced the goods once again to get rid of Shakeel. Babar though was solid as a rock and along with Rizwan saw off the fag end of the day. Pakistan are effectively 23/4 and have their task cut out. The ball is gripping and it won't be an easy task for them going ahead. Join us for Day 4 tomorrow to catch all the action. Until then, goodbye.
17:05 Local Time, 12:05 GMT, 17:35 IST: A brilliant day for South Africa and the ball lies in their court at present. Only the first hour of the day belonged to Pakistan and it was all South Africa post that. Asif Afridi was on a roll as he took wickets in a jiffy to pick up a 5-fer on debut and threatened to run through the lower order. But, Muthusamy and Maharaj had other ideas. The duo added 71 for the 9th wicket and then a brilliant 98-run partnership between Muthusamy and Rabada tilted the scale in favour of the visitors. The last two wickets added 169 and that propelled SA to finish with a healthy 71-run lead. Rabada's counter-attacking 61-ball 71 was the highlight.

Maharaj to Rizwan, no run, floated full delivery outside off, driven to extra cover. There's an appeal from Verreynne for something. He is having an intense chat with umpire Sharfuddoula but he is not interested. The replay shows that after playing the shot, Rizwan dislodged the bails with his bat and then started to walk towards the dressing room. Looks like umpire Sharfuddoula called 'over' before it happened and that meant Rizwan was safe. That's Stumps on Day 3
