South Africa opt to bat
Breetzke: We are gonna have a bat first, the wicket is very used so we will like to put a score on the board and try and defend it. In a game like this, you feel that
South Africa have won the toss and have opted to bat
14:00 Local Time, 09:00 GMT, 14:30 IST: Hello and a warm welcome to our live coverage of the final match of the 3-match ODI series between Pakistan and South Africa at Faisalabad. The series stands level at 1-1 and there’s everything to play for both teams. Pakistan made life difficult for themselves in the first match but managed to get over the line in what was a tense run-chase. South Africa bounced back in style in the second game with a clinical performance, especially with the bat. Quinton de Kock’s return to the ODI side after two years has boosted the Proteas. He struck a fifty in his comeback game and then bettered it with a match-winning unbeaten century in the last game. Nandre Burger set up the game for his side by taking three wickets in the first powerplay. South Africa were helped by the dew factor in the run-chase but their batters still had a job in hand which they accomplished to perfection. In terms of recent history, Pakistan have won four of their last five ODIs against South Africa and that will boost their confidence. Haris Rauf is also available for them for the series decider and that augurs well for them. Will Pakistan rule the roost in their home conditions today? Or will the Proteas keep their momentum up to clinch the series? Expect a cracker! Toss and team lineups will be announced shortly...
