What a game of cricket we had - all the thrills, the spills, the emotions and the delight, it all came together in that 50th over. Deepti can keep her head high, she tried her best, so did the Indian team, but they were beaten by the smallest of margins. This defeat could wind up the careers of possibly two of the greatest Indian cricketers - Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami, not the way to go, but as Mithali said, it was bound to happen one day. India will ponder about that Shafali run-out that snatched some momentum away, that final block of 10 overs where they could and should have got more than 51, that small cameo of Tryon, which bridged the gap between bat and ball - but these are the things for later. For now, Ramesh Powar & co. would do well to remove that tear away from the Indian camp. #CWC2022 has turned out to be the best World Cup in terms of quality, and we will be back for the two semis - starting with Australia taking on West Indies (who'll for sure have a night of celebrations on their own). Sune Luus - Winning captain - We're extremely happy, also for du Preez, for getting a fifty. She has worked hard for it after struggling early- this is how the semis is going to be (in terms of a contest), the preparation for the same couldn't have been any better. Coming into a D/N game, the experience should be good for the team. I am very happy for her (on Lara Goodall), the way she supported Laura (Wolvaardt), all this will keep us good coming into the semis. I think the South Africans can be very proud of us, the way we played, the calm and the trust - it's something we can be thrilled about
Mithali Raj | Losing captain - I personally feel the girls gave it all, it was an important game, was a good game, it ended our campaign, but I'm proud of the girls for coming so far. With the bowlers we had, I thought 275 was a good total, we had defended similar totals in the past. Her experience (on missing Jhulan Goswami) would have added a lot, but this was an exposure for the other girls to step up. Everything should come to an end, it'll take time to settle the emotions, but that is sport. Thanks to everyone who turned out for every Indian game, it was nice to hear your cheers and keep supporting the girls and the Indian women's team in the future.
Mignon du Preez | Player of the Match: I have been very fortunate, the girls have supported me throughout, I haven't had the best start to the tournament with the bat but to be able to do it today for us today was very special. The biggest thing was to take it deep. When I got in, there was still quite a few overs and we knew if we actually gave us some time, it'll get easier. Myself and Kapp said again we just need to take it as deep as possible because we know what Chloe can do. She hit a couple of boundaries. It (this knock) means a lot, it's been a tough few weeks when I haven't contributed like I would have liked. To do it when it matters the most, getting the momentum right into the semifinal, I'll take it anytime of the week. (Message to fans) We can't do it without you, thank you very much for all the support.
21:35 Local Time, 08:35 GMT, 14:05 IST: Well, well, well - lots of sulky faces in the Indian camp, they're close to tears, fought hard, fought bravely and all it took was a penultimate no-ball from Deepti to draw curtains on their #CWC22 campaign. Tough for Mithali, tough for Jhulan who couldn't play today - spectacular careers coming to an unhappy finish. But what a game to finish the league stage. A highly competitive tournament and they're four teams left. It'll be Australia v West Indies; and South Africa v England. India were a few runs short, their spinners struggled with the dew, and they kept fighting and fighting hard. Laura Wolvaardt threatened to take it away with a blistering 79-ball 80, then Harman's magic took over, Mignon du Preeze, short of runs, though took the centre-stage, was helped first by Sane Luus, then Marizanne Kapp, then came that fiery cameo from Chloe Tryon, and it became 7 needed off the last over. For once, du Preez lost her poise and holed out with 3 needed from 2, should have been India's match, but Deepti had overstepped by the tiniest margin possible, ending her team's chances with it

Deepti Sharma to du Preez, out Chetty Run Out!! 1 run completed. Deepti has thrown down the stumps at the bowler's end, and she thinks she's got Chetty, who was diving in. Yes, she's nowhere in the frame and it's one run and a wicket. Fine piece of fielding from Harman, got across to the ball after it was driven down towards long-on - the return was quick, wasn't accurate enough, but Deepti ran towards the ball, turned around and flicked it at the stumps.
