A seam-dominant opening bowler, Lukas Carey mastered his art at the Glamorgam academy before representing Welsh age-group teams and Glamorgan's second eleven in 2016. He made his first-class debut against Northamptonshire at Swansea and was the second best bowler on show for Glamorgan. He picked up a three-for and a four-fer respectively in both innings vindicating all the talent he's got. 

Although he bagged Glamorgan's 'young player of the year' award in 2017, Carey failed to deliver in crunch situations which restricted him to the second eleven side during most part of the 2017 season.
