SUMMARY

Picked by Gujarat Lions, Chirag Suri was one of the few promising talents from an Associate nation during the 2017 edition of Indian Premier League. Looking at his passion for cricket and his performances at the junior level many of Suri's friends had anticipated that he'll join the Indian cricket team. However, having brought up in Dubai, Suri decided to join the Emirati cricket team. At the age of 22, Chirag made his first-class debut against Namibia; a match in which he was dismissed for a duck in the first innings of the match. But in the second innings of the same match, he scored a handy 40-odd. A few months later, the young bloke made his ODI debut against Windies during 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

One of Suri's recent memorable knock came against Singapore where he scored 111 at the UKM Oval ground in Malaysia. UAE won the Asia Cup Qualifier contest by a massive margin of 215 runs and Chirag was adjudged the Man of the Match for his scintillating knock that consisted of 12 boundaries and couple of sixes. He's only in his early 20s and looking at the amount of talent he possesses, Suri shows promise to be one of the most pivotal members of the UAE batting line-up. If he work hards and shows consistency at the highest level, he might well prove to be one of the best opening batsmen from Associate teams.
