That is a wrap from game 7. We will see you tomorrow for the game between Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes. Cheers!!
Josh Philippe | Player of the Match: Felt really good. I probably haven’t had quite my best seasons the last couple of years, so it was really nice to spend some time out in the middle and take the game really deep. It’s exciting; we’ve played an extra game than everyone else, so not sure how long I’ll have it for, but I’m pretty happy with it. That partnership was awesome. He’s (Babar Azam) super calm out there and kept me on track. There was a period where I wanted to go really hard pretty early, but he wanted to take the game deep and he was awesome. He’s so experienced, able to guide you through different situations and keep you on track with that calm head. From 80 metres away it looked like a bounce, but I saw one replay and it went straight in. I was always going to try to hit that ball for four or six and I’ve got close a few times now, so hopefully there’s one around the corner for me. It’s not the ideal start we’re after, but to come back like that, especially in a Sydney smash where it’s always quite a tight contest, we’re really proud of that performance.”
22:40 local, 11:40 GMT, 17:10 IST: Sixers lost a fair bit of momentum towards the end of their batting innings, but their bowlers were on the money from the get-go. Removed Thunder's top 3 cheaply inside the powerplay, and had them 4 down for 48 at the end of 8 overs. The two international recruits, Billings and Shadab, then got together to counter-attack and smash 46 runs off 3 overs (9-12). Unfortunately for the Thunder, the fightback was short-lived as Edwards claimed 2 wickets in the power surge, leaving Shadab too much to do with the tail. While Edwards finished with five, Davies impressed with a 3-fer. All in all, it was close to a perfect game for the Sixers who climb to number 3 on the points table.
