AUSTRALIA VS SOUTH AFRICA - 1st T20I
AUS Inngs
Corbin Bosch to Nathan Ellis, out Nathan Ellis Run Out!! 1 run completed. Oh great direct-hit from Corbin Bosch himself. Ellis dug this yorker out to the on-side. Bosch ran to the right, picked it up at short mid-wicket and fired a throw off balance as Ellis wanted to steal the second run. It was a direct-hit at the base of the stumps. Brilliant work and that has ensured that South Africa have bowled out Australia for the first time in a T20I. Nathan Ellis run out (Corbin Bosch) 12(11) [4s-1 6s-1]
Kwena Maphaka to Zampa, out Caught by Brevis!! Oh that's a stylish flick, shame he hit it to hand. Brevis makes up for the dropped catch earlier too. Short of a length delivery on the leg stump, Zampa flicks, timed to too well. Brevis ran in and to the right from deep square leg to complete an easy catch. Four wickets for Kwena Maphaka. Can he get a fifer with one ball to go? Zampa c Brevis b Kwena Maphaka 1(2)
Kwena Maphaka to Tim David, out Caught by Stubbs!! Will they catch it this time? Yes, Stubbs, who put David down earlier, takes a good catch but not before David cost them 27 extra runs. Slot ball from Kwena Maphaka, David swung really hard, another mishit as the bat turned in his hands. Stubbs ran forward and to the right from long-on, judged it perfectly into the hands despite falling to the ground. David gets a great ovation as he walks off and he raises the bat to the crowd. Tim David c Stubbs b Kwena Maphaka 83(52) [4s-4 6s-8]
Kwena Maphaka to Dwarshuis, out Caught by Markram!! In the air and straight to mid-off. Length delivery on the stumps, Dwarshuis backs away and goes for a muscular smack over the infield, but hits it flat and picks out Markram, who moves a step to the left to take a fine catch. Dwarshuis throws his head back in disappointment and walks off. He was doing a fine holding job at one end with David going for the runs at the other end. Dwarshuis c Markram b Kwena Maphaka 17(19) [4s-2]
Muthusamy to Maxwell, out Caught by Linde!! Excellent catch! The two left-arm spinners combine to send Maxwell on his way. Australia continue to play their shots and are not keen on spending time out in the middle. Muthusamy floats one outside off and Maxwell can't hold himself, goes for the loft and slices it over point, Linde runs across from sweeper cover and dives to take the catch. He held on with both hands and didn't allow the ball to pop out when he hit the ground. Maxwell c Linde b Muthusamy 1(5)
Kwena Maphaka to Mitchell Owen, out Bowled!! Cleaned up! Not sure if this is aggressive or mindless batting. They have got off to a start but lost 4 wickets as well, there's no need to play the big shot for a few overs but Owen thinks otherwise. He charges down and gives himself room, Maphaka keeps it simple - good ball angled across, Owen gets a tiny outside edge and the ball hits the top of off-stump. Australia are 5 down and we are just in the 7th over.. Mitchell Owen b Kwena Maphaka 2(4)
Ngidi to Green, out Caught by Rickelton!! This is a massive wicket. Green was looking in superb touch but is deceived by some smart bowling by Ngidi. 114ks slower ball and Green was through the lofted shot early, miscues it straight up and Rickelton calls for it, moves a few yards in front and hangs on. South Africa are delighted as they have picked up their fourth wicket inside the powerplay. Green c Rickelton b Ngidi 35(13) [4s-4 6s-3]
Rabada to Mitchell Marsh, out Caught by Kwena Maphaka!! What a catch! Maphaka with his second and this was pretty amazing. Good length ball on leg, Marsh was right to go for the pick-up shot but he gets more height than distance on this heave, the ball went high and almost kissed the sky before coming down, Maphaka runs to his left from deep square and hangs on with both hands. He kept his eyes on the ball all along and that made the catch look easy. Mitchell Marsh c Kwena Maphaka b Rabada 13(7) [4s-1 6s-1]
Linde to Josh Inglis, out Caught by Muthusamy!! Inglis is gone for a golden duck. What a turnaround for Linde! Dropped a catch few balls ago and now strikes with his second ball. Short and outside off, Inglis had no intention of keeping the cut down, he intentionally tries to hit it over the backward point region but does not get the elevation, Muthusamy also was quite close in and he held on to a sharp catch. First wicket for Linde in 5 T20I games. Josh Inglis c Muthusamy b Linde 0(1)
Rabada to Head, out Caught by Kwena Maphaka!! The drop does not cost anything. Rabada has his early wicket. The dangerous Head is back cheaply. Very full delivery outside off, close to yorker length and Head bends down to squeeze it out, he opens the bat face and slices it to short third, Maphaka kneels down and gobbles it up on the second attempt, the ball hit him on the wrist and he used his body to latch on. South Africa were confident and replays proved they were right to celebrate. Head c Kwena Maphaka b Rabada 2(7)

Dwarshuis to Rabada, out Bowled!! You miss, I hit! Leg-cutting length delivery, Rabada slogs hard and misses, ball hits the stumps and Australia close the game. Rabada b Dwarshuis 10(6) [6s-1]
Dwarshuis to Rickelton, out Caught by Maxwell!! Glenn Maxwell you beauty! He was just inches from the rope. Had to jump because it was a certain six. He caught it with both hands beyond the boundary but was quick enough to release the ball before his feet landed outside the rope. And he threw it such that the ball wasn't getting too far away from him. Recovered, jumped back into play again and pouched it like only he could. To do all this in a fraction of a second and make it look so cool is just unbelievable. Great awareness of the rope, his position, the control of the lob and the spring in his steps. Insane stuff! So Rickelton thought he would belt this over long-on for six, hit it pretty well. Was surely a six but Maxi plucked it beyond the rope yet ensured this was out. Rickelton c Maxwell b Dwarshuis 71(55) [4s-7 6s-1]
Zampa to Muthusamy, out Lbw!! Muthusamy came in, wanted to try the reverse sweep, missed and was trapped plumb in front. He is walking off. Oh he's look back now and looks like there was a signal to review. Muthusamy started walking because he knew he wasn't going to escape that. Too full for the reverse sweep, Muthusamy was late on the shot, imact in line with off and smashing off stump according to ball-tracker. Muthusamy lbw b Zampa 0(1)
Zampa to Corbin Bosch, out Bowled!! Zampa does hit the off stump this time. It's so risky to cut smart leggies like Zampa from the stumps if you aren't a top-order batter. Brilliant slider that sneaked under the bat to knock out the off stump. Bosch just managed to cut the previous ball just before the stumps. Zampa went straighter this time to cramp him for room further and Bosch played a poor shot. Ball wasn't there for the shot in terms of line or length. Corbin Bosch b Zampa 2(4)
Hazlewood to Linde, out Caught by Maxwell!! Edgedd and taken! Had he not made that athletic dive previous ball, Linde might have been off strike for this ball. Hazlewood was called in crisis - desperately to break a threatening stand and he responds with a double-wicket over conceding only 1 run. Short of a length wobble seam and moving away, Linde looks to play leg-side and gets a thick edge. Credit to the Aussies for having a slip and Maxi swallows it to the right. Linde c Maxwell b Hazlewood 0(3)
Hazlewood to Stubbs, out Caught by Josh Inglis!! Hoff is the man! It was an annoying 72-run stand for the Aussies. Hazlewood comes on and breaks it third ball into the over. Ran it with an off-cutter grip that even Muttiah Muralitharan would be proud off. Interestingly he delivered cross-seam. The ball not only kept a shade low, also moved into the RHB. Stubbs was looking to pull, got an under edge and Inglis accepted the offer. Stubbs c Josh Inglis b Hazlewood 37(27) [4s-5]
Dwarshuis to Brevis, out Caught by (sub)Abbott!! This is smart bowling. They kept it tight to Brevis and then Dwarshuis slipped in the slower ball, Brevis is completely deceived as he attempts to whip it into the leg-side, closes the bat face early and the leading edge goes straight up, Abbott settles under it near cover-point and makes no mistake. This is turning into a good start for Australia.. Brevis c (sub)Abbott b Dwarshuis 2(6)
Maxwell to Lhuan-dre Pretorius, out Caught by Mitchell Owen!! That's a soft dismissal. Maxwell wins the match-up battle. But Pretorius would be disappointed with himself. Tossed up on leg, Pretorius makes room and chips it to wide long-off. Owen was placed perfectly and he held onto a simple catch. Pretorius wanted to go squarer but could not open the bat face enough. Lhuan-dre Pretorius c Mitchell Owen b Maxwell 14(9) [4s-2]
Hazlewood to Markram, out Caught by Green!! Hazlewood has his man. Concedes three fours but gets the big wicket of Markram - Australia would take that. Goes back to his favourite length - Markram thinks it is there for the drive, tries to hit it on the rise but gets it high on the bat, the ball lobs towards cover-point and Green kneels down to take the catch. The intention was to go over the infield but the length didn't allow Markram to do that. Markram c Green b Hazlewood 12(6) [4s-3]
