Mahli Beardman to Sean Abbott, out Caught by Josh Inglis!! Nine down! A short ball by Mahli Beardman, Sean Abbott goes for a pull, gets a top edge and the fielder takes a safe catch as the ball lobs towards the leg slip region. Has been a superb bowling performance by all Scorchers bowlers. Sean Abbott c Josh Inglis b Mahli Beardman 1(2)

Mahli Beardman to Ben Manenti, out Caught by Jhye Richardson!! And the procession of wickets continues.. A short and quick ball around off, Ben Manenti goes for a pull and the top edge has been taken by Richardson at short third man. There was another fielder converging for the catch from backward point, but luckily there was no contact between the two fielders. Ben Manenti c Jhye Richardson b Mahli Beardman 8(10)

Jhye Richardson to Joel Davies, out Bowled!! Richardson has another wicket. Doesn't celebrate much, starts walking back to his run-up mark. This was a slower delivery around off, Joel Davies swings early and the inside edge has deflected onto the stumps. The Sixers are seven down. Not able to get the finish they would've have been looking for. Joel Davies b Jhye Richardson 19(14) [4s-3]

David Payne to Joel Davies, FOUR, shortish delivery around off, Joel Davies swings across the line and the top edge flies towards the third man boundary
17.2
David Payne to Joel Davies, 1 run, that's another superb catch in the outfield. This time Connolly takes it. Joel Davies slogs it towards deep mid-wicket and the fielder in the deep moves to his right and takes a fine sliding catch. Payne has bowled an excellent spell today. He has picked up four wickets and conceded only 11 runs. Need only one wicket more to bag a match-defining five-wicket haul. They're checking whether it was a clean cath by Connolly. The third umpire is having a look at the replays several times and he reckons that it wasn't a clean catch. The ball was in contact with the ground, is the final say

Mahli Beardman to Joel Davies, FOUR, edged away! Was that a chance? Back of a length delivery outside off, Joel Davies looks to slash it away, gets an outside edge past the keeper's dive. That's a boundary for Joel Davies

W
Jhye Richardson to Jack Edwards, out Caught by Connolly!! Another wicket in the power surge. More than the Sixers, the Scorchers are having a great power surge. Jhye Richardson goes short and quick on middle and leg, Jack Edwards goes for a pull, miscues it completely and the fielder at mid-wicket takes a safe catch. They have already lost three wickets in the 10 balls of this power surge. Scorchers on top! Jack Edwards c Connolly b Jhye Richardson 3(4)

4
Jhye Richardson to Joel Davies, FOUR, 100 up for Sydney Sixers! A slower delivery down the leg-side and Joel Davies has helped it away to the fine leg fence
14.3
W
David Payne to Moises Henriques, out Caught by Mitchell Marsh!! That's a fantastic catch by Marsh. They missed out on a few run-outs in the last few overs, but their catching has been impressive. Moises Henriques slices it towards backward point as he gets deceived due to the slower one. Marsh stationed there takes a fine diving catch to his right and another set batter is gone. Sixers now have two new batters at the crease. Payne takes his third wicket - he's on a roll today. Moises Henriques c Mitchell Marsh b David Payne 24(27) [4s-1]
14.1
W
David Payne to Lachlan Shaw, out Caught by Mitchell Marsh!! Slower one does the trick! Not the kind of start they were looking for. This was short and wide outside off, Lachlan Shaw throws his hands at it and miscues it completely. Off the top edge towards backward point where Marsh completes the formalities. Payne takes his 2nd wicket of the innings. Lachlan Shaw c Mitchell Marsh b David Payne 14(12) [4s-1]
13.3
4
Connolly to Moises Henriques, FOUR, full and wide outside off, Moises Henriques drills it towards sweeper cover where a misfield results in a boundary. Scorchers have been quite sloppy in the last few overs. Misfields, run-out chances missed
13.1
Connolly to Moises Henriques, 1 run, lot slower through the air on off, Moises Henriques drives it towards wide mid-off and takes a quick single. Turner with a throw at the bowler's end, but Connolly fails to gather it. Had it been a direct-hit, it would have been curtains for Moises Henriques
13
Hardie to Moises Henriques, 1 run, run-out chance missed! Moises Henriques advances down the wicket and whips this towards mid-wicket. The fielder stationed there has a shy at the bowler's end, but with only one stump to aim at, he fails to get the direct-hit right
11.4
4
Brody Couch to Lachlan Shaw, FOUR, short and wide outside off, Lachlan Shaw throws the kitchen sink at it, slapping it over backward point as the ball races away to the fence. The fielder in the deep could do nothing about it. Also, a boundary after a pretty long time for the Sixers
10.2
W
David Payne to Josh Philippe, out Caught&Bowled!! Josh Philippe's rusty knock comes to an end. Perth Scorchers continue to build further pressure. This was a slower delivery outside off, tad fuller, Josh Philippe tries to reach out for it and ends up chipping it straight back to David Payne. He takes a safe catch in his followthrough and with that the Sydney Sixers have lost their third wicket. Josh Philippe c and b David Payne 24(24) [4s-2]
7.3
Brody Couch to Josh Philippe, 1 run, slower ball that's on the shorter side, Philippe waits and works it to deep backward square
7.2
4
Brody Couch to Josh Philippe, FOUR, back to back fours. This time to the right of deep square leg. Another short of length delivery, Philippe swivels around and pulls it backward of square. No chance for a diving Connolly in the deep

4
Brody Couch to Josh Philippe, FOUR, that releases the pressure. First boundary for Philippe. Short of length delivery, sits up nicely and Philippe nails the pull in front of square. He gets into a nice position and rolls his wrists over to get the placement right
5.2
W
Hardie to Smith, out Lbw!! That's an excellent review. Hardie was up immediately but the umpire wasn't interested. Turner didn't need much convincing, it was Smith and he went up straightaway. Good length ball, straight at the stumps, Smith shuffles a bit and misses the flick, struck right in front of the stumps and the only thing saving him was the height, ball-tracker showed it to be hitting the leg-bail - all three reds. This is a big wicket as Smith is the in-form batter and has carried the Sixers since his arrival. Smith lbw b Hardie 24(13) [4s-3 6s-1]
3.2
6
Jhye Richardson to Smith, SIX, just over Connolly. Smith is flying. Full delivery, angled into the stumps, Smith shuffles across and whips it to deep square leg. That's the biggest side of the ground and Smith got enough to evade a leaping Connolly
3.1
4
Jhye Richardson to Smith, FOUR, Smith is in the mood. 141.3ks fullish delivery, but not quite there for the drive or loft, but that's how good Smith has been, he just lofts through the line and clears mid-on comfortably
2.3
4
Mahli Beardman to Smith, FOUR, drilled! Stand and deliver stuff. Full delivery, right in the slot and no half measures from Smith, he absolutely hammers the drive straight of mid-off and does not bother to run
2.2
4
Mahli Beardman to Smith, FOUR, Smith is off and running. 139.5ks full pitcher outside off, Smith has the width and he does not hang about, throws everything behind the lofted drive and sends it to the biggest part of the ground, the ball plugs in the outfield but trickles into the rope

W
Jhye Richardson to Daniel Hughes, out Caught by Mahli Beardman!! Richardson does get Hughes. He should have had him first ball. Troubled him all over and finally has his wicket. The Scorchers strike early and that just increases the noise at the stadium. Back of a length and slanted across, Hughes sees the width and goes hard on the slash, does not quite middle it and the ball flies to third man, Beardman comes in and takes a good low catch. He was on the move as the took the catch and ensured he didn't drop it. Daniel Hughes c Mahli Beardman b Jhye Richardson 7(10) [4s-1]

Jhye Richardson to Daniel Hughes, FOUR, uhhh! Nip-backer and Hughes is caught in the crease, he brings his bat down at an angle and squirts an inside edge, Josh Inglis dives to his right and parries it away to fine leg. Not sure if this carried.. Hughes is living on the edge
