Joburg Super Kings vs Sunrisers Eastern Cape, 11th Match

Remember, it’s a double-header day, and we’ve got nearly 80 minutes before the start of the Pretoria Capitals vs Durban Super Giants at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. There’s some rain predicted for that game as well, but let’s hope we get a full game. Switch tabs and follow the action from that match. Cheers!!
16:09 local, 14:09 GMT, 19:39 IST: And there it goes! Players shake hands and the game has been abandoned. Both teams are rushing towards the dressing room after the formalities as it's bucketing down, followed by a thunder. Both teams share two points each meaning, the table remains static. Super Kings at the top and the Sunrisers on second.
16:05 local, 14:05 GMT, 19:35 IST: Alas, that was brief. Lightning strikes again and the umpires have asked the players to rush off the field.
Teams:
Sunrisers Eastern Cape (Playing XI): Quinton de Kock(w), Jonny Bairstow, Matthew Breetzke, Jordan Hermann, Tristan Stubbs(c), Marco Jansen, Patrick Kruger, James Coles, Anrich Nortje, Adam Milne, Lutho Sipamla
Joburg Super Kings (Playing XI): Matthew De Villiers, Faf du Plessis(c), Wiaan Mulder, Shubham Ranjane, Rivaldo Moonsamy(w), Donovan Ferreira, Dian Forrester, Prenelan Subrayen, Reece Topley, Akeal Hosein, Richard Gleeson
Stubbs: We have made 3 changes. Sipamla, Kruger and Coles come in. Unfortunately, it is only a five-over game, but it is still a chance to pick up full points. It should be great for the crowd and hopefully a good contest. Bairstow and de Kock (are going to open, yes) are a pretty formidable opening pair.
Faf: We are gonna bowl first. Five overs, you need to know exactly what you have to do. The pitch has beeen under covers for a bit and it's overcast. Going second (batting second), you know what you are going up against. We made a couple of tactical decisions because it is a shortened game. Topley comes in.
Joburg Super Kings have won the toss and have opted to field
Revised conditions for the five-over game: Powerplay - 1.3 overs. 2 bowlers can bowl 2 overs each.
15:48 local, 13:48 GMT, 19:18 IST: Just in the nick of time! The umpires have had a look at the conditions and have asked for the covers to be removed. It is going to be a 5-over per-side contest. Toss at 15:55 local and first ball at 16:15.
15:05 local, 13:05 GMT, 18:35 IST: Whoops! Raining again and although the cut-off time for a 5-over contest is 16:20 local, the chances of any play look very slim at the moment.
14:50 local, 12:50 GMT, 18:20 IST: Oh dear! Covers are back on the field and the prospect of a shortened-game looks very bleak at the moment.
14:25 local, 12:25 GMT, 17:55 IST: Here is a positive update to cheer you up. The covers are coming off and there is an inspection scheduled at 14:45 local.
13:55 local, 11:55 GMT, 17:25 IST: We have reached the "losing-overs" territory folks. The good news is that the radar shows very little to no chance of rain in the next couple of hours. More updates soon as we have it...
13:20 Local Time, 11:20 GMT, 16:50 IST: The covers are still on as there's still some lightning. The sun is shining through though and it should help to dry up the outfield which has taken quite a beating due to the heavy rain and hailstorm. A few big puddles have formed on the outfield so the groundsmen have their work cut out. Mark Nicholas who is a member of the commentary panel for this game has a little chat with the head groundsman and the latter mentions that there's a 50-50 chance of a game happening.
13:02 Local Time, 11:02 GMT, 16:32 IST: The hailstorm has stopped and the weather is also clearing up. The rain seems to have stopped as well. So, that's a good news. The spectators are getting back to their seats.
12:58 Local Time, 10:58 GMT, 16:28 IST: Hail is accompanying rain now. The ground is covered with a sea of white now.
12:52 Local Time, 10:52 GMT, 16:22 IST: It's raining heavily now with the roar of thunder also audible. Things are looking gloomy at present but we still have a lot of time to play with.
12:41 Local Time, 10:41 GMT, 16:11 IST: It has started to drizzle. It's very light at the moment. Let's hope the weather clears up soon. More covers are being roped in to cover the square. We still have around one hour 20 minutes before we start losing overs.
