That's all from this cracker at Newlands where MICT are alive and kicking. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Until next time, it's goodbye!
Pooran | Player of the Match: Crowd has been fantastic, not only tonight but throughout the campaign for us. Really happy to get points on the board for them today. Don't feel pressure. You're only under pressure if you're not sure what you want to do. Have been doing it for 10 years. Proven team, won last year. Unfortunately haven't got off to the start we wanted. But it's never over. We know we're defending champions and other teams are going to play good cricket and come hard at us. We need to show character as a team. Tonight the gods were watching and wanted us to win as well in terms of shortening the game.
Rashid | MICT captain: Brilliant effort from everyone. After the powerplay the way we came back was a brilliant effort. That's what he's famous for (Pooran). That's what we're expecting from him. Blasting innings in the middle. So happy everyone contributed. Was a long wait for the win. Feel like this win will give us so much energy.
Faf | JSK captain: Not frustrating. We played a really good first half of the game. Frustrating thing for me is that DLS in T20s is still a mismatch. Missing 8 overs and only getting 6 runs, it's almost built for ODI cricket. You're getting much more than 6 runs in 8 overs. As you can see it's pretty cloudy conditions out here so it was tough for the boys to catch tonight. The shortened game suited the style of their batting lineup. The ball was sliding on nicely towards the death because of the wet outfield. That's what good death hitters do. Someone like Nicky P comes in and puts the pressure on you.
22:20 Local Time, 20:20 GMT, 01:50 IST: Despite their performances this season, the Newlands faithful turned up in full support of their home team and Rashid's men have finally given them something to cheer. Cracking run-chase this to register their first win of the season. Was a shortened game and the target of 128 in 12 overs was a steep one, especially on a two-paced pitch. But Pooran's blistering 33 studded with five sixes gave the hosts just the spark they needed. Rassie also played well for his 35, and then Jason Smith provided the finishing touches. JSK will feel hard done by because of the rain break which robbed them of the momentum after a brilliant powerplay earlier in the evening. Faf was going great guns before the rain arrived, and MICT bowlers did well to pull things back after that. That's where the comeback began for them, and then the batters didn't disappoint.

Mulder to Karim Janat, 3 runs, massive roar at Newlands as MI Cape Town finally register their first win of the season! Full toss angling away outside off, Janat swings hard, slices it in the air and it drops short of deep backward point as he dives forward. Went for the catch rather than looking to hang back and stop it, which meant that he couldn't cut off the ball from getting through. The two batters seize the opportunity to get back for three and the crowd erupts as they do so
11.2
Mulder to Karim Janat, wide, angling away well wide outside off, Janat swings hard but misses, and it's called a wide. Probably the right call even with Janat standing just outside off
11.1
Mulder to Corbin Bosch, 1 run, round the wicket comes Mulder, tries a wide yorker outside off and Bosch takes it on the full with some premeditation. He bends across, reaches out and sweeps to deep midwicket
Wiaan Mulder [1.0-0-15-1] is back into the attack
That massive over has left MICT needing just 5. Surely they can't lose it from here.

Richard Gleeson to Karim Janat, SIX, Janat you beauty! Brought into the team today and he's delivered a six first ball in a pressure situation! Short ball from round the wicket, spots it quickly, gets into position and nails the pull shot. What a sound it made off the bat!

Richard Gleeson to Corbin Bosch, 1 run, slower one on middle, back of a length, Bosch pulls it to deep backward square
Corbin Bosch, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Richard Gleeson to Jason Smith, out Caught by James Vince!! Gleeson strikes back after getting hammered for consecutive sixes! Oh this game refuses to die. Switches to round the wicket, bashes it in short and rushes Smith on the pull. He miscues it down to Vince at long-on. Jason Smith c James Vince b Richard Gleeson 22(7) [6s-3]
Richard Gleeson to Jason Smith, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Richard Gleeson to Jason Smith, SIX, what swagger! No-look six over midwicket from Smith! Speared in full on middle and leg, it's in the slot and he dispatches it in some style. Brilliant little drop-kick with the bottom hand doing a lot of the work

Richard Gleeson to Jason Smith, SIX, where has that gone? The visibility isn't great out there but the fielder doesn't have a chance anyway. Sails over him into the crowd. Slower short ball, Smith pulls hard and gets enough to clear deep midwicket
10.1
Richard Gleeson to Jason Smith, 2 runs, zips through from short of length, Smith looks to pull and gets it very high on the bat as he's late on it. Splices it down to the right of long-off and is back for two
Richard Gleeson [2.0-0-30-0] is back into the attack
Karim Janat, right handed bat, comes to the crease
