PLAYER OF THE SERIES
Abbas Afridi receives the trophy, hoists it three times with his players and they pose in front of the Champions board. The Pakistan flag is brought out and they all now head towards the pitch to celebrate. So that's it from this tournament. Hope you enjoyed it. Goodbye!
Abbas Afridi | Pakistan captain: Very fast cricket, enjoyed it a lot. Will utilise this experience in international cricket. All our players are good. Hopefully they'll make it into the national team.
Pakistan players line up to collect their medals.
Yasin Patel | Kuwait captain: Unfortunately we lost the match, part of the game. We're playing for the first time in this tournament. Thanks to Hong Kong Cricket for giving us a chance. We beat Test playing nations. Our boys did excellent job. Want to play next tournament also.
Time for the Kuwait players and squad members to collect their runners-up medals.
Abbas Afridi: My favourite moment of this tournament is the title win. We've won after 2011. I'm working hard on my all-round game.
Abbas Afridi is Player of the Match. The officials and scorers are now being given their medals. Now for the Player of the tournament award, and it's Abbas Afridi again.
Abdul Samad: We are very happy. It's been a team effort. Credit goes to all the team members, the effort they put in throughout the tournament, it was exceptional. Credit goes to the captain Abbas Afridi, the way he lead the team is phenomenal. Kuwait is a good side. Our team is a very balanced side and that's why we played good cricket here throughout the tournament. We lost only game against India due to the rain. Overall, throughout the tournament, the boys played very well - batting, bowling, fielding. We are very happy that we are representing Pakistan here in Hong Kong. We really enjoyed it. The fans are phenomenal.
17:01 Local Time, 09:01 GMT, 14:31 IST: Comprehensive win by 43 runs for Pakistan and the players are taking a victory lap to thank the fans. No other team has won this competition six times. The chase started well for Kuwait as they smashed 32 off the first over in pursuit of 136. Adnan Idrees really got stuck into Shahid Aziz there. But the bowlers who came next did a superb job and pulled things right back. Muhammad Shahzad, Maaz Sadaqat and Abbas Afridi were all very good and they put an end to what has been a dream run for Kuwait in this tournament, having beaten teams like Afghanistan, India and England on their way to the final. Stay tuned, we'll have the presentations shortly.
