PLAYER OF THE MATCH
MICT need to find a magic potion to get things back on track. We will use a spell and disappear as well. That's it from game number 13. We will be back with more cricketing action very soon!
Sikandar Raza | Player of the Match: It's nice to, like we said in the halfway, it's nice to win the game. And now your contribution towards the game means more. It means a bit more special. I've heard great things about this tournament. Unfortunately, because of the clash with other leagues, I couldn't come in year two, year three. And this time, a lot of South Africans and the overseas boys, when we meet in the circuit, they said a lot of great things about this tournament. And like I said in the press the other day, all the things were true. They said it's a fantastic tournament, beautiful, iconic grounds, houseful. And to be able to win the game and get a man of the match, I mean, you can't ask for more. I've been a great fan of him (on Miller and his captaincy) for a long time, since a well-known former South African player told me what a talent he was. But he's got a lovely calm nature about his captaincy. Yeah, certainly. As a captain, I think it's very important to have. He's always there when you're bowling and the over is not going that well. You look at him and he's always calm. And I think that calmness rub off to the bowlers as well, if things are not going too well as well. David, also a guy who doesn't speak much, but he let his bat and captaincy do the talking as well. And also, we played against far too many times. It's wonderful to be finally playing with him for the first time and I'm loving every minute of it.
David Miller: Yeah, he's (on Tribe) a phenomenal player. I think you can see he's got a lot of time and he plays really good, strong cricket shots, so he's one for the future for sure. Nice to have him. Fifty in the last game and getting a good start today. No, I didn't (About Tribe getting picked for the Royals). I was following on the lines. Obviously, once we picked him, he did really well. I think he was in Australia, but he's done really nicely over the last couple of months. As have 10 others today. Yeah, a great turnaround, I think. As I mentioned earlier, a terrible start, but just the guys are really falling into their roles and nicely and just trying to kind of steer the ship into the right direction. And I really love the way the guys are celebrating, enjoying themselves, really expressing themselves and finding ways to win. Yeah, he's (on Raza) young 39-year-old, so it's nice to have him with all his experience in the team. And he adds a lot for us, as you mentioned, a lot of energy. And there he was. He's got a good cricket brain. I've always loved the way that he (On Baartman) takes the challenge. He's got good skills and he's always at the batsman. So it's really nice to have him. A lot of experience now as well on his side. So hopefully that keeps going.
Rashid Khan: I think it is quite disappointing to be honest. Not the kind of cricket champions team play but that is part of the game you know. You have these days. Good it happened earlier than later. We still have the chance and the opportunity. We will keep pushing as long as we have that opportunity. I think we didn't play as good as we should have been. I think, you know, that's the kind of cricket we haven't played. That's what this franchise is famous for and the kind of brand of cricket we play. I think we just went a little bit defensive. it's T20 and you can't really think about what happened in the past. I feel like, you know, individually we have to think and everyone is very experienced, as I mentioned earlier, and they all know how to manage themselves, but it's just about making sure you come with the right mindset and just to forget about where in the table we are. It's just about making sure we play good cricket and that's something which I'm expecting from everyone. I feel like if we can lose in four games in a row, we can win four in a row as well. That's the kind of T20 game it's all about. You just need one game to get the momentum, keep going, and we have that sort of team who can win you like four or five back-to-back games. And six teams, you know, you just need to be in top four and then you see how it goes. But I feel like we still have a strong belief on everyone.
18:18 Local Time, 16:18 GMT, 21:48 IST: This will be a tough pill to swallow for the defending champions. They lost by a run in the previous game against the Royals and now this mauling at the hands of the same opponents. Absolute shellacking. Rashid and his men would be lost for answers after this. This is their fourth loss and they don't have a win so far from 5 games. The Royals have stuck to their strengths and it is working superbly for them. MICT only have themselves to blame as they only scored 88 after winning the toss and batting first. Lhuan fell early but Tribe and Hermann batted well enough to ease off any nerves, if at all there was any. Miller came in and played a few shots to finish it off alongside Verreynne.
